So what is Sa if he isn`t a striker?, I`m confident he will get goals once we start creating chances for him, I`m more than impressed with his skill levels so far.

I will put my hand up and say that i booed today.

Not due to the performance but because it's another home game where we haven't scored. That's 13 times in the last 17 home games where we haven't scored including the last 6 games. Sorry but that is just not good enough at all. I pay my hard earned money to watch games and I want my local team go be scoring goals whether we win lose or draw.

We are too negative at home and I find it boring to watch.

Even though I didn't boo, I can empathise with this. Regardless of transition, injuries, lack of strikers, etc. etc. our lack of goals at home is unacceptable and inexcusable. Interesting that so many appear to have swallowed Clarke's line of completely discounting last season. Yes, it is a new season but that doesn't mean the supporters didn't have do endure some appallingly boring home performances at the end of last season. The fact is that those supporters who have taken the trouble to turn up to every game have not seen a goal by the home team for six games and nothing Clarke says can alter that.

We have eleven players in the team and between them they should be capable of finding the back of the net at least every couple of home games, if not more frequently.

How many set piece situations have we squandered over the last six games? Corner, after corner comes in without us appearing any real threat to the opposition's goal. Likewise freekicks. What are the coaching team doing to alter this? Where is the imagination and inventiveness?

Chelsea bought Pedro this week and he started today, scored and had an assist and was definatley a good addition to the team. How is it that just about everyone we do eventually buy is either injured or not match fit and we have to wait for what seems like ages before they start? Now we have just over a week to buy or loan a proven goal scorer so please bring someone it that can step straight in....

Personally, I didn't boo as we created several chances and it was an improvement on the Leeds game but I can fully understand why fans, who have endured over 10 hours without seeing a home goal, might. That stat is absolutely appalling.

Clarke has a nerve suggesting the end of last season be disregarded, it's a team selected by him, coached and motivated by him and it hasn't managed a goal in 10 hours.

If you suggest people who voice their disapproval but are still coming don't bother coming back, you aren't going to have many left if this continues

Sorry to burst your bubble. This is a Reading forum. Where having realistic expectations is simply being pragmatic. World class players are going to look good against inferior opposition. The Championship is a competitive league. With few bad teams. That's why I enjoy watching it. C'est la vie

We played some good stuff, another clean sheet, unbeaten in four - and that's two goals conceded in over six hours of football. Get behind the team and when the goals start coming, we'll be top half this season.

But context is everything, surely? Last season's team was disjointed, unbalanced and seemingly unmotivated for games not in the FA Cup limelight. From Saturday's showing, I'd say we are heading in the right direction. Our passing was better, plenty of movement off the ball (which has been lacking for several years) and real steel in defence (although I'm slightly worried by Bond). This is now Clarke's team and he needs that finishing touch by getting a striker in and getting his pacy wingers fit - if it's still firing blanks after this then it's time to question the coaching, but for me, the signs are promising.
