RoyallyFcuked Hoss RoyallyFcuked I thought we looked decent until we got to the final third, so not much has changed really.
Still need someone to play behind in the no10 role who can create chances.
Danny Williams?
I agree Williams can play there but I think we should be looking to bring a new creative player in and play Willams further back where he is more effective. Even if he does continue in that role, not sure we can rely on just him all season.
Just because somebody can, doesn't mean they should. And he's still quite limited for that role. I know he scored against Wednesday but his finishing is generally poor, isn't skillfull enough and doesn't have the range of passing and attacking eye needed for a proper cam or whatever you will.
Norwood is the best passer of the ball but is playing the poor mans pirlo role, but he's similar to Guthrie/Kuhl imo, also not suited We have an abundance of pure CMs but none definitively defensive a la Leigertwood and creative (Gylfi) - yes I'm aware they didn't play at the same time. For me Quinn would be the most defensive of our CMs but he's still not out and out. Taylor actually started out as that creative attacking mid but was played mostly on the left and was also pretty shit.
We need a Gylfi-esque player but they cost money and good attainable ones are few and fare between. That Chery guy QPR signed from the Netherlands is also in that mould, and he cost £2m +. Read somewhere that Hurtado can play in that role? Which would be great if he's dece, but then we are still left with the problem of our flanks being light on quality.
