Time for the club to push Brentford for a statement as to whether the game will go ahead

Considering today's rain the game must be in doubt .

Looks pretty awful here if you ask me. But they say the rain helped, and that the pitch will definitely be playable, so can't overly complain.

http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/griffin-park-pitch-relaid-2649430.aspx?

Playing surface relaid in time for match with Reading on Saturday.

Work to relay the Griffin Park pitch has been completed. The new Motz surface was laid from Monday to Wednesday this week in time for the Club’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Reading this Saturday.

The new turf – pictured above - was laid to schedule over a three day period, despite the severe weather conditions encountered earlier in the week. The recent above average rain fall has been of benefit to the new playing surface as it begins the process of bedding in.

The Club appointed a specialist to work alongside the Club’s operations team and both parties have ensured the pitch is ready for Saturday’s game. The new surface combines natural grass with artificial fibres to improve durability, which prevents damage from wear and tear. This will negate the need to re-turf during this season.

Operations Manager Alan Walsh said: “The project was completed on schedule and we are pleased with the outcome. The coaching staff and players will be able to use the pitch for a training session before Saturday’s game with Reading in order to give them a chance to be accustomed to the new surface.

“Fans may see small join lines when attending Saturday’s match, however we are confident this will not affect performance of the surface and will disappear in time as part of our routine pitch maintenance programme.”

County Turf Operations Director Chris Medley, whose turf has been chosen for the re-lay, said: “We are happy with the installation and completion of this project for Brentford FC. The recent rainy weather has aided the pitch and will help to give it a solid foundation for its continued use throughout the season.”

Will suit Reading's long ball game.

The concerns aren't about playing style, they're about a pitch that wont knit inside 2 days, and the risk of injuries as a result! It'll be playable, but at what cost?

I'm sure Brentford will give you the cost of the pitch if you ask them.

The Birmingham pitch a few season ago was a farce.

ounty Turf Operations Director Chris Medley, whose turf has been chosen for the re-lay, said: “We are happy with the installation and completion of this project for Brentford FC. The recent rainy weather has aided the pitch and will help to give it a solid foundation for its continued use throughout the season.”

I can't wait to see what the Solid foundation delivers.
