RUMOUR: Aaron Pierre

by Royal_Biscuit » 26 Aug 2015 13:46

Seems odd to me that we are linked considering our options at centre-back and Clarke saying our defence is complete. Maybe this is being lined up in case Hector goes?

Reading, Wigan and Sheffield United are among of clutch of clubs chasing in-demand Wycombe Wanderers defender Aaron Pierre.

The pacey left footed centre-back, 22, was a key player helping Wycombe to last season’s League Two play-off final.

And the Chairboys have started this season well despite suffering Wembley heartbreak on penalties to Southend.

Pierre has responded by already scoring twice this term and helping Gareth Ainsworth’s second-placed side keep two clean sheets.

Ainsworth won’t want to lose his star centre-half given Anthony Stewart has been ruled out until Christmas after picking up an injury in the Capital One Cup clash against Fulham earlier this month.

The knee injury will come as a huge blow to Wanderers, with Ainsworth bemoaning the loss of their new signing.

“Any injury will stretch a small squad like ours but we know we have a first-class medical team who will ensure Anthony goes through the best possible rehab programme to get him back to full fitness,” he said.

The injury has forced Wycombe into a move for Janoi Donacien on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa, although Danny Rowe is also set to return after picking up a groin problem against Barnet.

We are trying to build links with Wycombe so could potentially be a buy to loan back option.

Which would be most favourable! Seems to be a good player.

I find it amusing how so many of our fans get sucked in and believe we were prepared to pay £4m for a striker who was never in a million years going to come here, but they wont believe we're interested in a cheapo signing from a L2 club, which is far more realistic and like us.

Who's saying they don't believe we'd be interested?

Based on your well known predictions in the past, I am off to get Beric put on the back of my shirt
