The U18s' front four of Davis, Smith, Frost and Barrett is going to be hard for teams to deal with.

It's good to see us coming from behind, but hopefully we can start getting the first goal.

With now GMac/hurtado and Hrk/john on the wings I wonder what this means for fosu and stacey. I hope we can get them a top end league 1 if not a championship club to go on loan to. Shame as I was really looking forward to watching them play more this season.

Let's see what happens when the loan window opens next week but I agree we really need to get some loan time somewhere for Fosu, Stacey, Sweeney and Keown.

Remember Kuhl's "Reality Check" comment from last week?

Apply to all "kids"

Personally, I'd rather they stayed at the club. It will do them more good to play for the U21s for another season.

If they go to League 2 and tear it up then great, but loans are very risky business - just look at Tanner (or Taylor or Bell-Baggie or D'Ath).

Having watched the Tottenham babes play for Swindon. A loan spell ( and preferably a season) in the lower leagues sorts the players out.
Mason is now a first team regular. Luongo is now a first team regular for QPR. A player that I was hoping might be heading Readings way. Byrne is heading for Wolves.

Whilst Harry Kane flopped four times, Nabil Bentaleb didn't have any loans, Tom Carroll's loans have set him back, John Bostock's loans were more miss than hit... There are many routes to first team football. We've had too many cases recently of players going out on loan and coming back with their tail between their legs.

And that may be because we're producing players who are fine in the controlled and relatively pressure free environment of Academy and u21 football but can't yet hack it out in competitive league football.

I think it's horses for courses and it very much depends on what the player needs to come of age and the players we have in front of them at the time.

Some playees will have styles and preferred positions that'll fit in most places. Others won't

I'd suggest the more technical and cultured players suited to less traditionally conventional positions in English football need to be placed more carefully or kept here.

The likes of Kuhl, Tanner, Kelly.

Whereas the more conventional Stacey, Fosu, Tshibola, Keown etc should benefit from a loan with less descrimination of where they go required.

I don't know where we would be without you Ian. You're a man of true wisdom, I mean who knew that 'some players will have styles and preferred positions that'll fit in most places. Others won't.' Ground breaking stuff

Question: do the club and posters on here just say when we win, or do we beat everyone? :D

U21 have won 2 drawn 1
U18 have won all 4.

So overall 6 wins out of 7.

Cardwell on loan to Woking (Conference Premier) until end of October.

Many more to follow I expect.
Room needed in the U21s for the likes of Jules, Watson, Lawal, Sheppard, Husin and Semedo who aren't even making the bench atm.

In other news, academy graduate Gozie Ugwu signed a one year contract at Wycombe. Delayed start to the season due to injury disrupted trials. First game will be vs old teammate Tanner's Plymouth.

Is Ugwu the one that went of to Watford or was that Ikpeazu?

Ikpeazu went to Watford. Ugwu was just released and spent a bit of time in Scotland and Yeovil.
