No Fixed Abode It's subjective so the only way you can judge it is by stats

No Fixed Abode Quite clearly Wayne Rooney is a striker and has scored the most goals for England so I'm saying he's the best striker as the facts back that up.
I've not said Charlton was a striker or the best striker. In fact, I'm not even sure where Charlton has come from in this deb8 as I hadn't mentioned him at all until this erupted.....
You need to tell the original poster of this thread off - because he included Charlton in the list of this thread entitled 'Englands Best Striker'.

Yes but as i said, Rooney has played 107 games to get his 50 goals whereas Lineker played 80 to score 48 and Shearer 30 in 63....Greeves got 44 in 57
So really i wouldn't say who has scored the most is the best striker - in fact that shows Rooney isn't as good as he took more games to beat their individual record.

No Fixed Abode Well if that's your argument it's David Nugent. He scored 1 goal in 1 game.

No it's not, it's Vivian Woodward with 29 in 23 games.

No Fixed Abode But you were using the argument of goals per game.

Indeed - in answer to the OP's question of who is the best striker (from the list he put up).....

Can some HOF that sentence?
?
It's like arguing who the best Premier League team is since it's inauguration. Some might says it's Arsenal as they play the most attractive football, but all the stats say Manchester United.
