P!ssed Off In other news, academy graduate Gozie Ugwu signed a one year contract at Wycombe. Delayed start to the season due to injury disrupted trials. First game will be vs old teammate Tanner's Plymouth.

Is Ugwu the one that went of to Watford or was that Ikpeazu?

Agreed, excellent win for the U21's.

Top of the U21's premier league.

We have Tish currently starting for the first team, Fosu waiting in the wings (no pun intended), Kuhl out on loan, Tanner doing OK at Plymouth. We are starting to produce more and more players with exceptional potential, it is very exciting as a fan. Love seeing one of own come through and make it.

I would like to see Fosu go out on loan though. He isn't going to get the chance in our team this season, unless injuries force 2 or 3 players to miss out and some real footballing experience will do him a world of good and he already looks like he could be so very good. Look what a loan did for Hector and Tish.

Big mention for Liburd, scored 2 tonight, I think that is 5 in 4 games for him now. I appreciate its only U21's, but if this is what he can produce having only just joined us, I can not wait to see how good he can be, once his skills are honed. Dare you say "he could be like Ian Wright" in hushed tones. Fingers crossed, looks a prospect.

Any idea why there's no sponsor on their shirts?

Interesting video interview with a very depressed Ugo Ehiogu on the Spurs website. "We got beaten up today they were too much for us to handle. Reading were comfortable winners"

Carabao agreed to not sponsor the youth team since it is an energy drink. Basically, to save them from a PR nightmare of "energy drink targets teens"

They were wearing the away shirts which are not sponsored by Carabao.

May have been mentioned before - but just seen that the U21's home game v Southampton will be live on BT Sports 1 next Monday (21/9).

Still think Uches agent took advantage of him and forced the move to Watford. It was a move that made no sense unless money was involved.

Great for the U21s but I was puzzled by this remark by Martin Kuhl after the Spurs game. He said - “We’re not ‘supposed to’ be top of the U21 Premier League because we’ve got a different badge on our shirts to the big clubs". Did he literally mean a different badge or was he simply referring to 'little Reading'? Or am I being thick? Or both?

He means we're upstarts and I have heard comments from other clubs that we're not part of 'the gang' either in terms of stature as a club or being a traditional source of good young players.
Which makes it all the more enjoyable !

Quite telling that despite being the top goal scorer in the country at that level back then none of the big clubs came in for him.

I took it to mean that all the other teams in the division are Premier League clubs (bar Boro) so we should be struggling as one of the only Football League sides.

The bigger clubs should have the better players, that is the way it is "supposed to" work.

He's just pointing out that other clubs look down on us because we aren't one of the traditionally strong academy clubs, so yeah, opposition thinking of us as "Little Reading".

If the premier League U21 teams wear the same shirts as the senior teams then they have a Premier League badge on the shirt. I think that is what he means.
However if you look at the highlights of the game, just up on the OS, it looks as if there is a Premier League U21 badge on the sleeves of both teams so he (or I) could be wrong

Being a Reading FC employee the concept of him being 'wrong' is very left field.....

Massive selling point for the club if you ask me. Not only are you going to play in one of the top youth sides in the country, you've also got a decent chance of graduating to the first team.
