Has serious potential as a scout - but isn't he already doing that at the Arse.

Maybe he's having a drink with an old work colleague - it can happen

Replacing Clarke??

After a 5-1 win? After the window has closed? After Clarke has finally set up HIS team? After 3 straight wins? After transforming Nick Blackman into some unrecognisable new talent?

I would wager he's just coming back to see some friends, he's one of those you'd have to say is always welcome around the club.

I believe he was there to table his bid for the naming rights of the stadium.

The Mcdermott Mega Bowl!

I think they're doing a special function / thing with some ex-players and staff tonight. A few have been invited to the game this evening.

Difficult to say as I started supporting the club during the Pardew era, I'd imagine a lot of former staff are more than welcome at the club but those from when I've been watching RFC, special mentions would go to:

Coppell
McDermott
Sig
Long
The bulk of the 106 side.

Would welcome him back under SC. The gunners aren't known for being busy in the transfer market maybe MacD fancies being apart of something special again now that the rich daddies boy is grounded and out of sight.

Disagree. I think he worked at reading because he'd been here for so long and the relationship between him and the players was so good that everyone played out of their skins for him. Was found out hugely in the prem and tactically naive.

Absolute legend? 100%
Good coach/manager? Not for me.

the premiere league is very difficult with a substandard squad
many promoted teams struggle.

anyone who could take us up ahead of saints and west ham that year is clearly a very good manager and coach.
imo

I feel he was a good man manager and a good fit for reading.

Didn't work at Leeds and if he's such a good manager why hasn't he got another job since?

In so many games of our promotion season we were second best and by some distance.
