Muslims definitely believe in Jesus, just not that he was the son of God. Just another prophet to them......

I didn't know that, thanks for telling me! Just checked with my Muslim colleague and he confirmed it.

Either way, I don't think having a multi-faith prayer room would necessarily mean we are going to be turned into a Muslim country.

It's a good job Taipairoyal migrated away from this country so he can sit in another country and complain about people migrating into his country.

Islam, Christianity and Judaism are pretty much the same religion just with different interpretations. Makes the massive conflicts they provoke even more stupid.

Bear in mind all this multi faith prayer room stuff is totally fabricated and not on the agenda at the club in the slightest.

Forgive me but I think comments like this are stupid.

There's way, way more to these massive conflicts than differences in opinion over interpretations.

I think the Madejski Stadium should have a Masonic Temple room for anybody who wishes to rehearse a degree in a Lodge of Instruction post-patch.

If you MUST pray to your imaginary friend in the sky, why do it at a football match?? And if you MUST do it at a football match, if your imaginary friend in the sky is so all-seeing/omnipotent etc, then why on earth does he/she/it require you to go to a special "prayer area" to listen to your inane/insane mutterings??

Why is this drivel on the Team Board?

Why am I here?

What is the meaning of it all?

If I go to the Mad House's Multi-Faith Prayer Area, will all my questions be answered? Mick had it right ...

I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield
Listening to gospel music on the colored radio station
And the preacher said, "You know you always have the
Lord by your side"
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran
Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you lord

...
...

Well the preacher kept right on saying that all I had to do was send
Ten dollars to the church of the sacred bleeding heart of Jesus
Located somewhere in Los Angeles, California
And next week they'd say my prayer on the radio
And all my dreams would come true

From what I read Freemasonry isn't a religion and not anybody can go but apart from that it's a good point well made

Correct very true, many similarities with our old Testament, Christianity modernised, at least most of it did, Islam did not, their book is the voice of their Prophet from Allah .It can never be changed or modernised, forever stuck in the barbaric middle ages. The worst and most dangerous followers of Islam are Salifi Wahhabi who follow a very strict austere literal interpretation of the Koran. Wahhabis don't believe in Evolution, equal rights for Women, freedom of speech or homosexual practices.
Wahhabism is now the biggest threat to Western Civilization, and our government are helping it to spread with misguided foreign Policy and bleeding heart Liberalism.
According to their book Isa (Jesus) and ibraham, Noah, Joseph, David, are all lesser Prophets.

I am now permanently back on these shores, I have never been a non Dom, I have always regarded the UK as my home and have always kept my main house here.
I have only been Non resident for contract work and tax purposes, and have always declared my worldwide income.
All legal and above board.

I can assure them that these things do exist.

If somebody is religious enough that they feel the need to pray, I suspect they would put praying ahead of going to a football game and go to whatever church, temple, synagogue, etc that is appropriate to their religion. If they choose to come to the football instead, then it's their choice not to go to the many, many, many religious facilities available to them, and I would then question how important their religion is to them.

Interesting that you've never been non Dom except for tax purposes.
Surely the whole point of being a non Dom is tax related !
Make your mind up !

Several common misconceptions here. Firstly, Islam certainly can be modernised. Just look at Muslims in this country - overwhelmingly they are at least as liberal as their Christian counterparts. Not every Muslim is a Salafist.

Secondly, Isa is not a "lesser" prophet in Islam. He's a precursor to Muhammad, sure, and his teachings receive less emphasis than Muhammad's, but he was born to a virgin, he was the Messiah, and he ascended to heaven without dying. He will return to fight the anti-Messiah at the end of the world. That's not a "lesser" role.

Bit worrying that complexities of world religion are finding a home under Club Policies. We'd be better off sorting the parking out and calming Orlando down.

I must admit this thread has gone in a different direction than I intended but glad to give a platform for theological discussion in Club Policies.
