JC You want to try the Telegraph.

no, really, no.

W8ing for Woodcote to come in on this one. A year or so ago (I promise this is true) he posited that the BBC do not like RFC and overlook our achievements because the town is Tory territory. Instead the BBC favours Northern (Labour) clubs.

JimmytheJim That's unusual, you don't normally see Tories coming up with paranoid conspiracy theories about BBC bias.

Apparently, and according to a typically "impartial" BBC source, an increasing number of Tory supporters are failing to arrive and take their seats in what should be "balanced" BBC audiences

To be fair to our centre left state broadcaster this might actually be true.

Having paid £20.00 for various mugs and T Shirt's in order to help ensure that Grade B Twat Miliband (No longer Grade A following Corbyn's simply laughable success  ) never got his hands on power, many of us feel our work is done for another 5 , if not 10 or 15 years thanks to dearest Middle England Jeremy.

This new Tory member is happy predict that the TV licence will be toast long before Labour returns to power.

Watch and weep!

Was the BBC kinder to RFC 1997-2005 when the town had 2 Labour MPs? This has nothing to do with political bias, much though the usual Tory trolls here would like to make you think. Just confirmation bias - seeing what you expect/want to see.

He is right BBC is supposed to be a fair non biased platform of information , as well as being paid huge salaries by the public via license fee.

JC You want to try the Telegraph.
The match report runs to about 7 paragraphs. The word Reading appears once and the only mention of what we did is one sentence.

Agree with this really. The report is there on the BBC website for those who want to read it. It's newspapers publishing reports without fair consideration to both sides that grates much more.

I'm not sure if the posts above relating the quality of reporting to political leanings of Reading are serious.

If they are I can say with some authority - as someone who works in the sporting media - that rarely have I read something quite so ridiculous. Indeed many in the media, both in TV and in the newspapers, live around the town and several are Reading fans - including leading journalists, and producers at SSN and Sky sports in general.

I have never worked at the BBC, however I know many that do. They would not have a clue about whether Reading voted Tory or Labour, or care. If there is more in a report about the Premier League club than a championship club, that is simply because people find that more interesting and relevant.

IN for the "don't see the point of this thread" bandwagon.

Same story as always really - people of all political persuasions feel the BBC is biased against them.

I know a Geordie who thinks that both the BBC and indeed the FA and the England manager are biased in favour of London clubs and players.

There is a match report, but when I posted it was the only game not on the main page, the other 7 all were.

The match report was via the results page.

From the Lancashire Telegraph

Reading had won three of their last four Championship games, all on the road, and fairly comprehensively - notably their 5-1 thrashing of Fulham.
