Watched Holland v Iceland last night.

Iceland look a very decent team who could do well at the Euro's next year. As for Holland, they looked awful but going down to 10 men didn't help them. Must win game in Turkey on Sunday. Lose and they may even struggle to take the playoff berth in the group.

The most effective substitution of all time.

Yep, pretty much gives Pep a lifetime 'lol, fuck you' if anyone accuses him of a poor substitution.

Celta Vigo gave Barca an old fashioned beat down. 4-1. Iago Aspas got two and looked skillz. And I had a fiver on Vigo to win and btts at 10/1 :)

Terrific game on BT Sport between Bologna v Roma.

Hardly a typical Italian tippy-tappy passing triangles kind of game. The conditions and pitch resemble that infamous abandoned cup tie v Bury in the 90s. The ball won't roll more than a couple of yards, so both teams are lumping it upfield. The pitch is so waterlogged you expect ducks to be swimming by in some patches.

Even though 2-2, and a classic.

What happens when you replace Carlo Ancelotti with Rafa Benitez?

Winston Smith Zlatan.

He's got a ridiculous record of having won the league in all but two seasons since 2001-02.

sandman made the point of Ancelotti v Benitez.
Did Real buy anybody much in the Summer compared with previous seasons?
Does Ronaldo want away because of Benitez being the manager or would he have wanted to leave whoever was the manager?
Is Gareth Bale fit?
As they were saying on the radio today, did the president pick the team (unfit Benzema et al) on Saturday?
Great performance by Suarez and co.

the RM manager is always pressured into playing certain players, its never 100% their selection. Benzema being the main one, he is like Florentino Perez love child who can never be dropped. been some talk in the Spanish media today that the club will give RB free reign to do exactly what he wants until Jan to prove himself though.

a lot of Madrid supporters calling for the club to get rid of Ronaldo in January apparently. if he is not scoring incredible amounts of goals then he is causing problems.

It is indeed an amazing record. I think it was 9 years in a row with 5 different clubs in 4 different countries.

Real could be kicked out of the copa del rey after playing an ineligible player. Former Reading target Denis Cheryshev. He scored the first goal as well.
