Sacked... Just saying. Reading the Pool fans forum most seem genuinely gutted for Brendan.

How could it be?

This was only ever going to go two ways; having managed Liverpool he could never manage any other of the top clubs, so it would have been international management if he'd been successful.

Now I doubt he's even a Sunderland consideration.

Scutterbucketz having managed Liverpool he could never manage any other of the top clubs.

Assuming you're only talking about English clubs, Rafael Benitez? Even Andre Villas-Boas?

Amazed people still can't spell his name after he managed us for six months.

Finally, inb4 the merge/move.

Maybe one of the other crappy teams hovering around the relegation zone. Like that other team from Fulham, their name escapes me at the moment...

Alan Shearer's putting the boot in on MOTD2 at the moment.

Neither him or Ian Wright think he's been hard done by.

Both had a more impressive record than his. He was a risk for Liverpool. He got an unfancied team out of the championship, mainly from a team he inherited, bolstered by a striker he got through his chelsea connections. He hadn't managed in Europe or played in the champions league. The only way, for now, is down.

Liverpool plan to make Brendan Rodgers one of the world's highest-paid managers - Belfast Telegraph. I read somewhere he was on 7 million a season.

Two ex Reading managers driving for a living; Quinn and his lorry and Terry's taxi. Brendan's Bendy Bus beckons.

On John Terry's display yesterday I'd agree with him.

Reckon he'll end up at either Villa or Newcastle depending on whether Tim or Steve goes first.

Reckon he's more suited to the Rotherham job.

In all seriousness I could genuinely see him going to Leeds after they sack Rösler.

Fired at Liverpool for the same reason he was fired at Reading.

He has his style and he makes players fit his style, rather than adapting to the style of the players, or the ability of the players.

He played pass it football with kick and rush players at Reading and was in the relegation zone with a team McDermott could get into the Prem. At Liverpool he couldn't get his players playing the way he wanted, unless he had Suarez at the front. But then only Kenny couldn't get Suarez playing well.

I thought he was a strange appointment for Liverpool in the first place. Clubs with Top 4 ambitions tend to go for managers with a track record of winning things on a national and European level and they seemed to ignore the fact that at Swansea, he walked into a job where the squad was already set up to play his style.

He clearly a "project" manager and struggles when expectations are high and instant results are expected. There's no doubting his coaching credentials but the big fear for him now is that he's a bit of a busted flush, I can't see too many Premiership teams touching him and I don't think his ego will allow him to take a couple of steps down the ladder to rebuild his reputation, although with his massive pay off, I don't think he'll be too bothered in the short term.

Maybe a return to Chelsea in a coaching capacity or abroad? He always banged on about having jose's number, maybe it's time he actually rang it.
