West Stand Man
melonhead
Boro had so much possession they made us look average, which we are.

lol at the possession stats being brought up
this is why possession stats are daft.
it means nothing.
when they had the ball we let them faff about with it in their own half, and when they came into our half we took it off them and broke quickly, causing them problems.

Precisely. Maybe a certain Mr N Adkin should look at these stats and understand why we are so much happier now. I'd always settle for less possession and more goals (especially if we are also stopping the opposition from using their possession advantage).

was always brought up regarding saints and west ham the year we went up too.
they must be better because they kept the ball for hours, therefore we didn't really deserve to win the league
lol

definite pen. no he didn't clatter him, but he took him down without getting near the ball.
id obviously moan if it was against us, but that's the modern game etc

You're everything that's wrong with the modern game.

Did anyone else hear any goal music when Blackman's scored? The chant in Y26 & Y25 was so loud and continuous when it went in I couldn't hear any being played, thought it was great.

Unfortunately I did. They're still persisting with "Magic" (Pilot??) which no one knows what to do with - singalong? no one knows the words. dance? nope. So everyone just carries on celebr8ing in their own way - which is as it should be.

They play magic obviously to prompt us to sing "Better believe he scores goals".

Pretty sure Brentford are topping the possession % this year, and look how well that's working out for them.

Whilst it's based on it the tunes aren't even the same and I didn't even know they did this, I could only hear us.

Ghey from the club.

I can honestly say I have never heard anyone sing that but then I sit in the North-East corner and don't go to away games.

Serious? It felt like half of the east stand were singing it non stop for like 10 minutes on Saturday.

What's even more embarrassing is still having music playing when the game has started

Even playing music when the players are lined up ready to kick off is bad

As has been remarked on here before, the "noise" made by the south-East corner just does not travel along the east stand.

One of the weird things, I watched the highlights and at the fulltime whistle Reading fans were singing "EIEIEIO, up the football league we go", I didn't hear it at all at the match!

Also massively agree at music playing when the game kicks off, they even get it perfect with one chorus of Sweet Caroline just as the players finish getting in position but then they continue playing it.

Suppose it wouldn't have to if any other part of the ground made any

Someone mentioned it but genuinely think it would help if they boarded up/covered up the huge gaps at the top of the stands.

This was sung a couple of times, surprised it didn't carry as it did get going quite well at one point.

Getting embarrassed by a bit of music played at a football match really is quite sad.

This is exactly right. If you're up the other end of the ground then you can barely hear anything from y25/y26. Genuinely hardly anything at all.

I have never heard the Blackman song at a Reading game but then again I haven't been to an away game since he actually started scoring goals.

Likewise you can barely hear a peep out of the North East corner in the South East, it's pretty much just the drummer and the occasional bit of clapping. And obviously no one can hear anything from North to South West.

But "EIEIEIO" and "You'd better believe he scores goals" were as loud almost anything I've heard in the stadium and went on pretty much from the moment the penalty was scored until well after the final whistle was blown down in Y25/6 ish.

That's not a good use of "likewise". It sounds like you can hear everything that comes out of the NE corner.
