Lenny The Tramp I dunno Coppelled. My son hates ice skating but loves going to football, so Reading ticks a couple of boxes.

The town needs a decent fun pool, and a revamped Central Swimming Pool as well; it's bloody horrible in their now. You still need to go out of town to Basingstoke or Bracknell if you want a decent fun pool, lazer quest type thing, go-karting, ice scating, etc.. RBC could do a lot more to bring more people into the town.

Sutekh I like the bit that says "....flexible space for live events and concerts..." hope that space will be flexible enough to allow for a concert hall that would allow Reading to be included on many a band's concert tours and not just a 500/1000 seat maximum offered by the Hexagon.

And a great site about our local music scene - http://www.altreading.com/6-best-places ... c-reading/

There's loads more, but I can't be bothered to do via my iPod

Coppelled, I'd say that karting and laser quest are more private commercial operations rather than council obligations. There's actually a pretty good new karting place just off Basingstoke Road/Bennet road industrial estate.

But couldn't agree more re swimming. And lots of other sports stuff that we should have. (Don't get me started on Rivermead, state of changing rooms, squash courts etc!).

Love ice hockey, went to a live game for the first time a couple of weeks ago in Cardiff. Even more exciting game than football IMO.
