andrew1957 One thing I do think is that not re-signing Baird from Feb until the end of the season must go down as one of the most short sighted decisions ever in the history of football.

I doubt he would have been on more than £10K a week and so that would be about 200K and CM has been our big problem issue all season (mainly due to injuries). There might be no money but not scraping together 200K could cost 90M if we fail to go up.

As if Chris Baird would have made the difference. A player who can ply centre back, right and fill in as a defensive midfielder was not going to be the answer to our problems. Even when he was here he didn't play as he was injured.

And you talk like £200k is a small amount of money, however when you have no money £200k is a rather large amount to find, and that is if you are right on your assumption of £10k per week, which I think is probably a bit on the low side.

Extended-Phenotype
melonhead but the only owner we have left isnt able to/doesnt want to borrow any more money, he's having enough trouble trying to shift the club as it is.

:?:

People are bemoaning our owner for not bringing in loans to help ease the injury crisis and keep us on track for promotion. Your defence is that he doesn't want to.

I'm not sure you have quite got the hang of this.

im not bemoaning anything he's done.(apart from sell half the clubto some nigerian prince)
he doesnt want to cos he cant afford to.

who pays the loans back, who pays the interest?
we cant afford to
he cant afford to.

he's trying to sell the club and already failing. I can see why he wouldn't want to add reasons for someone to not want to buy it.

Still think we have plenty of quality to cover. We've not had Quinn since the Burnley match and we've won 3 out of 4 since then, and more than enough quality to cover HRK.

You mean the same HRK that has the most assists and who's injury-induced exclusion from the squad has coincided with our two worst performances since deadline day?

Yeah. That guy.

Tbf Hal hasn't been a permanent feature of our new side. He was good when he came back in, much to everyone's surprise, but we were rocking it before then and should cope without him considering the mass of midfielders at our disposal. Blackman has done well in that position and surely Vydra is ready now.

Fair points and I'd agree, but on current form I'd rather have HRK starting then Piazon out of position or John.

Hopefully Vydra will start tomorrow.

CW reporting Tshbola out until next year.

Huge blow, all of a sudden our midfield is looking pretty lightweight.

Would gladly have Chalobah on an emergency loan.

Gutted that Tish is injured, this was his season to become a star. Also we need to get back to playing 3 central midfielders.

Why don't we put Hector in midfield with Ferdinand and McShane at CB, that could work.

The problem is Ferdinand is still nowhere near being able to play football. People are saying he is still struggling just trying to walk.

McShane and Cooper at CB and move Hector to DM? Imo that's risky, and could just be an exercise in solving one problem to just create a new one.

Terrible news on Tish. :(

Was the prognosis of being "out till next year" implied to mean next season or the next calendar year?
