Silver Fox  Calm down to a panic m8, he was just offside, it was close though, good job by the lino

He wasn't offside. Level - so by the rules, he should get the 'benefit' of doubt - so the goal should have stood.

Chelsea don't make up these rules, the FA do. So you can see why Mourinho was aggrieved.

As it was a close 2-1 scoreline - these decisions can be critical....

These things don't matter in a 4-2 drubbing.

Nope, up there with "daylight" in the great myths of the offside rule.

Hoop Blah His leg was ahead of the last defender Kes.

You can score with a leg so he was, just, in an offside position. It's one of those that is too close to get 100% right at the speed of play so I think the lino was a bit lucky to be call it right and he possibly should've given the benefit of doubt to the attacking team but he was obviously not in doubt and was ultimately proved correct.

Totally disagree. He was onside. Even with the benefit of the replay nobody is sure, so by the FA ruling you have to give the attacker the benefit of doubt.

Just kidding Kes, don't get upset.

Anyway, I'm not sure where you get the idea that nobody can make their mind up about whether he was offside or not.

This shows it pretty clearly.

For my money I think it's possibly too close to call (although not a close as I was remembering it) and be confident of being correct and so the lino possibly should've given the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team. As I've said above though, he obviously didn't have a doubt in his mind and so flagged.

He's been proved right too so should probably be applauded for such a good spot.

frimmers-esque logic! It would be pretty dull if only you were allowed to post on this thread m8, scratch that, incredibly dull

Still now we're all agreed that Cesc was offside can we discuss the hilarious contention that Matic shouldn't have been sent off because other players haven't got a second yellow in the past?

That's just after Willian had played the ball - so a split second earlier he was onside. You can see the ball has been passed already.

Like I say. It's the consistency of the officials that is LOL'able here.

Did you see the Coluccini sending off? Jokes.

That took you a long time to get back from Fulham!

Drowning your sorrows en route home?

It's close enough that I don't think you can be too annoyed at the officials. In real-time you would have to be a cyborg to be 100% confident whether it's on or off.

I don't understand what everyone is wetting their knickers about. All the teams around them lost, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Villa, so no harm done at the weekend really.

Surely they should be looking over their shoulders at a resurgent Sunderland. Chelsea don't want to be bottom at Christmas, you know what history suggests if that happens.

Agreed, We need to buck up our ideas and get our promotion push back on track or we may end up playing Chelsea next season.

I'm not. SF seems rattLOLed about a team that has no effect on his own team......

That point may be more valid when you can demonstrate SF has a 24449 postcount on another team's messageboard

Your point would be valid if my posts were constantly slagging off Reading FC.

Chins up m8!

Well your posts are 60% slagging off Reading, 10% slagging off their fans in fleeces and going to B&Q and 10% are about your married friends not coming out to play anymore and the last 20% is you being racist. :|
