LWJ In fact having seen his Spurs record.. why the fcuk was he sacked???

Exactly and all the players liked him and worked hard for him. He was sacked cos he wasn't a "big name"

At Villa he joined an already sinking ship, saved them from relegation and got them to an FA Cup final.

I'm neither here nor there but would prefer to see him over most mooted. I certainly won't echo this vicious anti-sherwood mantra by many on here.

He's a bit of a bellend though.

Sherwood is basically a more expensive Martin Allen. Short term he might gives us a boost. Long term,I.e. More than five months, everyone would be sick of him and more than happy to see the back of him.

Pearson seems to tick most of the boxes -Saints fans down here liked him (not necessarily a great reference bearing in mind the previous Nigel).
Parky-why not?
As with Pearson you would expect their sides to reflect the manager, aggressive, hard-working, long ball etc. but neither Bradford nor Leicester or Saints have played that way under their management.
Viveash as mentioned by a couple of others?
I'm not sure that managing U21 sides and bringing on youngsters is great preparation for managing a Championship club with the expectations that go with it-it's probably better for them to start lower down.

It would be interesting to know why Clarke has made a sideways move-presumably it's more money for him and/or a bigger budget for transfers.
Although some have said he was well backed in the transfer market wasn't it fairly evenly balanced with biggest earners moving on and the Hector money being used to fund what we have now got?
Clarke will turn out to be one of the shortest-serving managers of our club and his time will probably be soon forgotten.

Thought their Players couldn't stand him, he went on national television and talked shit about them.

Yeah but when you play for Villa it's part of the job description.

Pardew, McDermott.. It can work. I like Martin Kuhl, personally. But Pearson ticks a lot of boxes at this level.

From what i've been told that was Levy making it look like he had upset the "stars" such as Paulinho, Sandro and Capoue, when in fact he had to find a way to get rid of him, as he couldn't use his performance stats. He also didn't like the fact that Sherwood was moaning about his job being touted about whilst he was full time manager.

No mention yet for Mark Warburton? Did a stunning job at Brentford before being unfairly sacked.

and manager of Rangers

Don't think we will pay for a manager, so it will be someone already out of a job

David Moyes should be our number one target, I hope the board are ambitious enough not to fall for the "he's too big for us" guff being spouted on here

Already told an Ipswich fan at work to mail the board and tell them to hurry up and sack McCarthy.

But Ill say what I always think when this question comes up, regardless of the fact I dont know what he's doing nowadays - Zola.

I would say its not a massively different career arc to McClaren at Derby, tbh.
Maybe Moyes can stay at ours for 18 months, get used to English football again before going to Stoke or somewhere in 2017.
