Which one of these gentlemen, not currently managing, should lead the mighty Reading FC?

Who might be interested and apply or register an interest informally if their contract prevents them from speaking with other clubs?

Ex-Players looking for their first job
Out of work managers
A kid who has played football manager
A current player nearing the end of their career
Managers of lesser clubs looking for a bump up
Failed managers looking to restart their career
Managers underpaid looking for a boost
Managers with difficult boards/directors of football to deal with
Managers whose wives demand they move from places like Grimsby or Hull to be nearer the bright lights down south

We need someone with loyalty who will stick it out this season and next at the very least.

I'd be happy with either Hoddle or Curbishley. Hoddle's a local, can't help but feel he has unfinished business as a manager.

Is Hoddle actually still local? According to my spreadsheet he was the third part of the Woodley-Sonning triumvirate with Felix Bowness and Tony Gubba. Perhaps he upped sticks when they did

What about John Salako - been learning his trade with Pardew at Palace. Like the idea of giving someone new a chance rather that always going round in circles with the same names.

SC cleared to talk to Fulham apparently, now only a matter of time.

Strong belief is that we're speaking to Pearson.

Tim Sherwood is an expensive Stuart Pearce. All cut from the Martin Allen cloth. It's a no from me

Pearson would be my preferred choice or Gary Rowett

Yep, seriously. I'm not sure any of these newish managers are actually any good. Can anyone really say Hoddle or Curbishley, considering how long they have been out of the game while very publicly looking for work, wouldn't want to do everything they possibly could to be a success? I remember some of the football played under Hoddle especially was brilliant.
