Could even be a presser to announce that Satsuma has a new song

Think I've lost the plot. Shall I tell David downes to stand down?

Fcuking tool, don't want him back now. Not sure its a cause for celebration that he didn't get exactly what he wanted at Fulham and came crawling back.

Players won't exactly have much confidence in him now. Would love the Thais to announce that he is staying and then sack him in the same breath tomorrow.

What a twat.

Exactly. If he's gone I'd think he was a twat, then look forward to someone new coming in who wants to be here.

Now we're stuck with his dour derelict profile on the touchline. Hope we sack him.

its a bit like a bloke leaving his wife for a younger model but realising very quickly she is annoying as f*** and so goes crawling back to his wife. she might take you back, but it wont ever feel like it did before, and she will never forgive you for trying to take all her backroom staff with you.

If you think about it as Clarke is the new manager there will be the usual 'new manager' bounce for 6 matches. Bingo!

Steve Clarke's 'new manager bounce' yielded us 6 points from 18 last time round.

I suspect a similar outcome may be on the cards.

Better than the last 5 matches so there are reasons to be cheerful.

Actually, coincidentally the last 6 games have also produced 6 points out of 18. That is 30%, which is very similar to his win ratio here.

Think he's found his level

Neil Warnock. Alan Pardew. Mark McGhee - NO, but seriously...

It seems like it's only a matter of time before Mr Clarke departs for pastures new, unless Reading's form picks up rapidly - which is not impossible. Has he 'lost' the dressing room? We shall soon see. January's just round the corner and thoughts will turn to which new players might be brought in, especially to bolster the defence.

I like Steve Bruce, Steve McClaren, Ian Holloway - there must be plenty of experienced people out there. I don't want a 'greenhorn' like Tim Sherwood, guys like him should start at the bottom I reckon, and Reading haven't reached that yet. Could do worse than call back Brian McDermott, I thought he was a good, honest fellow who knew the club inside out and was poorly treated. But I doubt it'll happen.

Steve Clarke is not that much of an unusual name. Are there any other Steve Clarke's out there that would make the transition to a new manager that bit smoother?

This Steve Clarke on LinkedIn is even in the business of 'people management'. We would almost be stupid not to give him the job when Steve Clarke leaves

Next Manager When Clarke Goes

by Royal_jimmy » 28 Nov 2015 22:16

I would go for Justin Edinburgh from Gillingham or Mick McCarthy.

Thoughts?

Support the team, accept that being at Reading is just a job for everyone from owners to manager to players and stop whining.
