Nameless Isn't Newcastle under Ashley probably the second worst job to aspire to in English football ?
If that is the future for Warburton he'd probably be better off retiring now !

Yeah possibly not the best example. It's still a big job though, and one that would pay well, and would be one of the most rewarding if done well with some success.

Obviously with Ashley there it makes it pretty difficult but he has at least opened the purse strings a bit recently.

We're off on a bit of a tangent here....

On the radio this morning they're still predicting that we'll appoint someone very soon, possibly still today. With McDermott at 1/2 it still feels to me that it's not a done deal so I'm not so sure.

McD doesn't come with a backroom so possibly if he's in discussion it could be that there is talk about other appointments tied in. You suspect Reid and Besant's futures are doubtful at the least so potentially we need a manager plus 3 coaches.

Presumably he'll want Nigel Gibbs to come back as well. He's assistant at Millwall atm.

Aaaah, the fact that he is at Rangers seemed to have passed my by. Thought he was tending an allotment in Twickenham or something.

Hoop Blah I think Warburton would be mad to leave Rangers.

I'm surprised Brendan Rodgers isn't being linked more strongly, given how well it worked out last time round...

The Daily Mail Rodgers managed Reading from 2010-2012, leading the club to the Premier League through the play-offs

Wiki says Millwall, but no sign of him on the Millwall OS. Can't find any info on him begin at Watford either. Although looks like Reading legend Dean Austin is back there.

Any one who will wear a track suit, (not an office boy) Knows the offside rule, has the respect of the dressing room, will not listen to newspaper reporters, but will listen to loyal sensible supporters, use his selected back room training crew to the full, make his own mark on the team , get us out of this crappy division , into where we should be, PREMIER ROYALS,

Having seen and been part of Fulham's struggle to get a manager in you'd have hoped that we would have had someone lined up before we got shot of Clarke.

Maybe we have, but if he is already in a job we could hardly have completed the formalities.
And by timing the sacking when we did we've neatly bought ourselves extra time to sort it anyway.

see the comment (earlier in this thread or in another related one) about it taking 4 weeks to sort out getting Coppell here. These things take time.

It took two weeks to get Adkins after Brian, and he was without a club.

However Clarke was pretty much next day after Adkins was sacked, so go figure.

I think this could all rumble on for a week or so yet.

Sooner the better I say but would rather they got it right.
