"Top 5 Brian McDermott moments"
"What do you think of Brian McDermott's return to Reading?"
"Brian McDermott set to be named new Reading FC boss"
"Brian McDermott to Reading FC: Live reaction to Royals manager news"
"Watch Charles Watts reaction to the expected appointment Brian McDermott at Reading FC"

Forbury Lion A cynic might think the local sports journalist was pushing for a return of Brian McDermott because Brian is media friendly and very open as opposed to the likes of Steve Clarke who made the job of filling the internet equivalent of column inches on the back pages hard work.

bobby1413CholseyRoyal I agree there could me many reasons, but I should have thought if he were really keen on the job he would have sorted the family side out before agreeing to be interviewed. He must have doubts about something that was talked about be it back room staff, funding or maybe he wouldn't be in total control of the players. Who knows but odd that Charles was so confident he would take the job yesterday morning now someone is back tracking.
WHO IS BACK TRACKING?????!!!
Nothing has happened other than someone announcing through the media that BMcD is in line to take over. Nothing has changed has it? The only new announcement is that Kuhl will be managing on Saturday... that doesn't change a thing. Maybe they want the new manager (aka Brian) to have his first game at home? Or just want to not rush things.

tidus_mi2 Technically speaking, McDermott is a foreign manager right? He's Irish, Ireland aren't part of the UK.

Technically speaking he's English.
Having Irish parents might mean you qualify to play football for Ireland but that's not the same as being Irish.

He has Irish parents so he's Irish. How does Irish + Irish = English? I get that there is the whole picking your nationality based on either birthplace or lineage but Brian has definitely in the past said he would love to manage Ireland, he's never said the same for England, that would suggest to me he believes he is Irish.
