Against QPR, not only did he get Make Some Noise and Back the Boys the wrong way round, he finished with Come on You Rs, clearly unaware it's QPR's nickname and gave them a chance to sing it.

I can't imagine it is possible to get a worse announcer than this halfwit. He thinks he's at a children's party. He genuinely spoils my enjoyment because he is so embarrassing. If we start to look like a decent club anytime soon, we are surely going to need a professional.

Can we have a campaign to silence this man? I'm willing to unfurl a banner for example.

I might ban myself to prevent having to tolerate him rambling and playing that siren noise.

I suggest a banner could say "Back the boys and STF Up"

However there are those posters of Clarke and, I think, Robin Friday next to the old video screen. Presumably the Clarke one has gone so if anyone has a picture of the announcer where fans could write their own comments, perhaps the club will get the message.

The frustrating thing is that he comes out with these cringeworthy rediculous comments.

Then he ends with "make some noise, back the boys, uuuurzzzzz"

Or whatever it is... And then loads of people around me belt out "uuuurrzzzzzz".

Why?! Just oxf*rd boo him next time or ignore him

You make me chuckle Munch. I get the distinct impression that this bloke and your other mate, Dave-Royal, aren't going to be on your Crimbo card list any time soon

At least on here you can block people, unlike the PA guy.

Perhaps Dave-Royal is the PA announcer.

PieEater What will it say?

"Silence is golden: We ask Reading Football Club to temper the overly loud and obnoxious PA man who is widely thought to be having an adverse effect on our enjoyment of home games."

It could be spelled out along a long sheet of material taking up most of the East Stand.

Sound expensive, how about a shorter "Sack the PA Announcer"

Much more effective. Have you considered a career in marketing?

Will get on to it.

How about PA FO, cryptic enough for the club to wonder what it's about.

Being drowned out by 'You are embarrassing' ought to send a fairly strong message.
