When the ball hits the goal
It's not Shearer or Cole
It's also not Hurtado

TBM Considering we've actually signed him - i don't understand why he doesn't play ahead of the 6 loanies we've got

Taken time to settle. Travelling back to play for his country can't of helped.

Nor does he seem to have fitted SC's formation.

If he's not in the reckoning soon under the new manager he'll be gone in the summer.

What formation was that then?

4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 4-5-1, 1-1-7

It really doesn't matter, despite the quality of our wingers SC clearly instructed them to do everything in their power to forget what they were, not to go to the byline and cross it in, but to cut inside, slow the play down, try a fancy flick and pass the ball to the opposition.

if he speaks no English, and only a handful of other players speak Spanish, I can't imagine he has a hell of a lot of an idea what's going on in training. When he is on the pitch he always seems to be a bit out of position.

We've seen nothing of him yet.

A lot of international players, especially South American seem to take longer to adapt in England than others.

Fair question. This season alone we have played the following (well at the start of the match anyway)

4-4-1-1
4-4-2
4-5-1
4-3-3 (allegedly!)
4-2-3-1

Not bad for 22 games! No wonder the players rarely have a clue where they should be.

He deserves much more time to come good. Be patient.

All I've ever seen him do is run inside leaving the right wing unmanned. Not impressed. But then under Clarke all anyone ever did was run inside so who knows.

From the little we've seen he looks to me like decent back up for McCleary. A solid but not spectacular 6/10 man who isn't particularly pacey or tricksey... not the sort of player to change the game from the bench.
