Can we kindly ask you hurry the fuck up please, nige. We are now closer to the drop zone than we are to the automatic promotion places. Hope you had a nice day out to Preston today. Glad you liked the singing! Tutty bye.

Don't know what to make of that. I can't see why McD would take more than a couple of days. Are we pursuing other targets and he's the back-up option :?:

Nigel Howe issues an update on the hard work going on behind the scenes

Following a narrow defeat on a bitterly cold afternoon at Preston, Chief Executive Nigel Howe spoke to the official website from Deepdale on the hard work that is being conducted to appoint a new manager as swiftly as possible at Reading Football Club.

Howe was about to head back to Berkshire after watching interim manager Martin Kuhl lead the side at Deepdale this afternoon and he was full of praise for Kuhl and his squad of players.

“We played some good attacking football and we had our chances to score - and yet a penalty has decided it. Earlier in the season, those chances would have been converted, but I think it’s clear to see for all the fans who were in Preston today that we’re just not getting the rub of the green right now.

Did he go to the wrong game?! Seems his assessment is somewhat different from those posted by fans who were at the game.

I put a fiver on Guy Luzon at 20/1, so if it did happen, I wouldn't be totally despondent.

I don't know mate. That means certain relegation.

£100 wouldn't be much conciliation imho.

Hopefully we'll know soon, this is becoming very frustrating.
Just get Brian back and most of the fans and players will be happy.
Taking a gamble on a Charlton failure would be hugely disappointing after thinking we'd had the egg-man back

ladida_gunner_graham
Royal Lady There was a Jaguar something or other in the hotel car park last night - with the initials BRY on the end - this means that McD is holding out until he can secure Brynyar as his number 2 - or something.

If there is a prize for baseless speculation, you win.

Chillax m8 - I was having a bubble. Could have been anyone's car!

Right - can we please stop with these ridiculous rumours now. I ran the idea of Brian coming back through one of his daughters last night on Facebook and she confirmed to me that he'll be here by Tuesday at latest.

NO Guy Luzon. NO Dennis Bergkamp and NOBODY F**KING ELSE.

If you don't believe me I'll even link her profile for you to message her yourself.

Total media blackout on this now lol. After get reading got burned last week they are not committing to anything!

They can have my scope though.... Brian to be announced, Arsenal contract disputes and backroom staff sorted and new era (again) starts next week.

Welcome home Brian.

Wow. What a truly humble gent he is.

Part of me doesn't care about results - I just want him back. Someone with class and who feels so strongly for the fans and club

If he comes back (when) I can't see him getting us relegated (unlike my fears with Clarke after last season)....but will another season of stabilisation be enough I wonder?! Hope he brings Samuel and Cox back from their respective loans too (if he comes back etc).....basically, I love Brian and want him back!!

Seriously, don't post great stuff like this. If we don't get him it's going to be devastating.

Agree with you Ian. It will a crime not to appoint him given his win % ratio, his love of the club and fans. Fingers crossed he'll be in place before Wednesday and then we look forward to his home coming game against Blackburn. Excited!

Loving the club doesn't mean that a manager will be successful in the Championship, let alone one level higher than that.

Have people really forgotten how dire and helpless things got in the latter days of McDermott? Being a nice man and loyal were probably two contributory factors to that.

He did great things for us and those rightly are still at the forefront of memories when his name is mentioned. I fear his return will in due course tarnish those memories.
