The last thing a poor side like Chelsea needs right now is a tough trip away to a top side like Leicester.

2-1 now

Is it a mere consolation or will the underdogs pull off a shock comeback?

True, some flashes of good play which must give the new manager hope that they will be able to pull away to safety.

So much for the PL being unpredictable... that one certainly went to form and the better side.

Chelsea 1 point from the relegation zone in December, after 16 games. What dirt does Mourinho have over Abramovich? Any one else would have been sacked by him long ago.

Are they actually in danger... it seems unbelievable, but there's clearly something rotten behind the scenes (apart from the normal they're all heinous arseholes). It's clear the manager is part of the problem and it doesn't look like he has any hope of turning it round. The longer he stays, the less chance of them recovering quickly enough to make Europe and the more chance of them going down.

This is simply wonderful.

Proper relegation 6 pointer next weekend with Chelsea playing Sunderland. If Sunderland beat them and other results don't go their way then Chelsea could find themselves 2nd from bottom at nearly the half way point in the season.

If that ^ happens then I think it would have to be accepted that this league season is nothing but a fight to avoid dropping down to the 2nd tier for them

Unlikely - Norwich have a horribly tough game away at Old Trafford.

I would laugh at Chelsea tonight, but that result was pretty much as expected.

Has a peep at the Chelsea thread. Sees Kes chatting shit about the "Chelsea Family". Laughs head off. Such a warm family club full of racists, funded by totally untainted oligarch dough and managed by modest Mourinho.

Thing is, for those of us who remember football pre 2004 (and the Russian money rolling in), this is what Chelsea were like. Anyway, Jose surely can't last much longer....despite all his previous success and the understandable goodwill from the Chelsea faithful, the players clearly don't want to play for him anymore!!

That's not strictly true They were a top 4 team by 98, finished 6th for a couple of seasons before that and were prolly mid table 10/11th for the rest of the 90's

Beyond that I can't rem but know they were relegated in the 80's

I remember the Geoff Hurst era and the very real possibility of them dropping into the third tier. that would have been 80/81. In fact; I remember attending a match Vs Oldham just after he got the bullet. The fans took out their frustrations on the then Chairman (I grew up a Chelsea fan and Reading follower. That changed in the mid 1980's. I abandoned Chelsea completely in the 90's).

I agree. I turned the match on last night eager to see a shock Leicester win. Then I thought... hang on, Leicester are surely favourites and Chelsea are actually, truely, genuinely under dogs. I lost interest and turned off then.

Ian Royal It's clear the manager is part of the problem and it doesn't look like he has any hope of turning it round.

Agree as well - I would guarantee that if they sacked him the players would immediately improve performances and actually start gaining points again.

Even the Leicester players didn't do this last night when they beat last years Champions.
