Friend of mine spoke to Coppell recently and he said he would have loved the opportunity to come back, but the job was Brian's..

And did they send you photos of every other manager we've played against in the last few years giving a post match chat on the pitch side?

DangerousDogNonce It's all been done. No more worries guys.

Brian McDermott set to be appointed manager of Reading FC around 2.00pm tomorrow. Delays have been over issues with staff, particularly the recruitment of Sal Bibbo (currently at Arsenal).

If I'm wrong (I'm not) shoot me down tomorrow!

Ready, take aim.....

There's no press conference coming so you may as well hang yourself now, or I'd accept go to the darkest corner you can find and hang your head in shame

tbf, even charles watts has backed him up and said the UK lot want BM, it's now down to the thai's to approve it. UK lot being Hammond, Howe and SJM. Get the hull defeat out the way and we'll probably get a decision.

The inference being some of the Thais are not happy with Brian and probably want a "bigger name" to take over. This could drag on and on.

The Thai`s are the owners, so they should have the final say

If (and I'm not convinced it is) the delay is based on the Thai's not being sold on the idea of McDermott then he'd be better off walking away.

He went back to Leeds under what what could be seen as similar circumstances and it was obvious how that was going to end.

If the owners of a club aren't fully behind a manager it won't end well.

Oilroyal I don't understand some of our fans re Gunter.

He's a decent player who would walk into any top half Championship side and can anyone honestly believe he would protest against our next management appointment?

Haters: Stick to slagging him off week in week out if it floats your boat but to say he's the reason for the delayed announcement of BM as our manager is oxf*rd stupid and a cheap swipe to fuel mob hate

I like Gunter, just passing on the info I was given from IMHO is a good source.

Fair play if Gunter is opposing the appointment of McD. It'll be the first oxf*rd challenge he's made since Brian bought him.

Just checked the OS to see how they are explaining the lack of a manager, and I saw a big picture of Ian Holloway. Almost shat myself. It was just an advert for Sky. That was a horrible, horrible moment.

Joking aside id take Holloway atleast the after game interviews would be good, that's all I watched the blackpool game for on match of the day when they were in the prem. atleast we wouldn't get the same clichés, like we are taking one game at a time and the squad is working really hard. he is like the boris Johnson of the football world
