Hull City (A) Match Thread - Sponsored by a Brucey Bonus

by tidus_mi2 » 16 Dec 2015 19:05

ReadingFC: Bond, Gunter, Taylor, Ferdinand, Hector, McShane (c), Norwood, Williams, McCleary, Blackman, Vydra.
subs: Al-Habsi, Robson-Kanu, Piazon, Fernandez, Quinn, Keown, Cooper.

So what is that, 4-3-3, Hector as a DM?

Fernandez must be wondering what he has to do to get a game.

Looks like we're also now in the business of alienating players, Ola John obviously wasn't too happy about being left out. Whoever comes in to take over this lot is going to have a massive task on their hands.

At the end of the day he's stuck to 5 loan players in the squad and we have 6, would have probably had John over Piazon though.

Piazon could probably make a difference off the bench though, if played in the right position. he's got some goals and assists so far. Hector as a DM with an interchangeable front three of Blackman, Vydra and McCleary?

5-2-2-1?

Or will Hector play as a holding midfield?

I'm happy enough with that team, it doesn't really matter as we're only there to make up the numbers.

I can't see how Piazon is getting anywhere near the squad at the moment, but to leave out John who has by all accounts been one of the rare bright sparks in the last few games seems ludicrous.

I would suggest John is a far better impact sub than Piazon.

It's interesting he's gone quite defensive when we've only lost 1-0, would suggest we've been largely defensively solid without much attack impetus.

Unless the idea is for Hector to do the defensive work in midfield and give Williams and Norwood freer roles to be more creative.

Perhaps it's a 4-4-2 with Hector playing up top as the target man for Vydra to play off?

Hull are playing two up front, so it could be three centre backs

Sky are reporting it as 5-3-2, McCleary in midfield with Williams and Norwood. Hull playing a 4-4-2.

Interesting to see Kanu back in his rightful place after just one game back.

To be fair it can be both.
5-3-2 when we defend and
3-5-2 when we attack.

Me i would go 4-1-3-1 with Vydra up top and Hector holding in front of the back four.
