If there players were behind him and the decision is purely down to results then I'm gutted he's gone. If they weren't behind him due to things going on behind the scenes, such as the Eva Caniero case - it's probably best for all concerned they've parted company.

It would be worse if he did it for Chelsea. It's more understandable with Liverpool, as neither have won the Premier League so a draw at home to WBA is seen as a better result for them than it would be for us.

Just a reminder that barring Mourinho going back a third time, Rafa Benitez will finish his career with more European trophies for Chelsea than him..

Me too. They will improve now. The players have succeeded in their aim. Don't blame them mind.

If you genuinely are not sure whether the players were behind him or not then I am lost for words. I am away for a while now Kes. Don't miss me too much.

Yeah I agree. If the players were behind Jose maybe we should have shown our solidarity and all held hands after the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth.

John Madejski's Wallet Losing 2-1 away to the league leaders is no disgrace tbf

True, some flashes of good play which must give the new manager hope that they will be able to pull away to safety.

Well that was obviously coming.

I think it's hilarious how both Jose and the media have been full of the players let him down, especially Jose's betrayal comment. The reason they let him down was his management. The biggest part of his job is to man-manage his squad and create the right atmosphere, HE totally messed that up and failed.

It's a powerful dressing room at Chelsea, as we've seen in the past when they've not taken to previous managers.

Indeed and it is astonishing how many people "in the game" don't get it.

Popular opinion is that his biggest cock up was pre-season where he let them all have extended breaks resulting in them being way behind other teams in fitness at the start of August - something which is very difficult to catch up once a few poor results have occurred... confidence suffers and a downward spiral gathers pace with infighting, recriminations and blame games.

I wonder whether Jose's problems with Eva Carneiro (which it has oft been mentioned started well before the public blow up) were as a result of her challenging him on the pre-season fitness regime.
