New ground and winnable game. MK Dons are a club easy to hate and I'm genuinely looking forward to this trip even though every report I've heard of the place is negative

Ticket bought would expect us to take at least 1,500 to this one

In x 4. Tickets arrived in the post today. "Football in the Heart of Milton Keynes" printed on the tickets. Nice.
Presumably, unlike the away trip to Forest, no Hooters near the ground?

And that ... Is why I fuking hate those inbred cnuts.

Has anyone been to the "heart of MK"? No? That's because no one can fcking find the thing.

It's a soulless out of dispair. I once said to someone - you never feel like you're in the centre, always in some bland industrial park.

In terms of where to go, don't know. It definitely does not have a Hooters. In fact, Nottingham is the only town in England with one.

Bobby l let your first comment about Milton Keynes go but I really must protest in the strongest possible terms about your savage attack on this vibrant city.

The shopping centre is superb and has everything you might need in one location and under cover.
You can park close by
part of the shopping centre is built around a tree!
It's got an indoor snow dome.
An ice rink
An IMAX cinema
Bars pubs and restaurants galore (albeit they re all chains)
And Just one thing in its favour over Reading, you can get from A to B with ease. No queuing on the oxf*rd IDR!
I could go on...

I can confirm there is no Hootes though!

Milton Keynes is a soulless hellhole that makes Bracknell look like Rome.

Part of the shopping centre is ok but the rest is just bleak and souless which resembles the aftermatch of a radioactive leak

Yes you can park anywhere... because it's like a massive vacant site which has been structured around unlimited car parking spaces. It is like a massive Industrial park

Bar, pubs and restaurants - yea, but again it still feels like you're on a night out down at Forbury Retail Park with you wondering outside amongst car parks to cross the site to another pub or restaurant

...

I don't think I've ever been a more characterless place in my whole life

CountryRoyal More roundabouts than people.

Factually incorrect. I don't even need to check on Google.
And I think you'll find roundabouts are a very efficient way of moving traffic around, unlike for example, the IDR

Bobby, I think you may be holding a grudge what with your inbred cnuts comment!

It's a thriving place with great facilities and easy to get about
What more do you want? And it can't help being new as there aren't any old buildings!

If anyone is interested I would have a drink in Stony Stratford before the game, although you will still be a taxi ride away.

Thriving?

Yes I detest the whole place. I'd happily burn the whole town down if I could (although would evacuate everyone first - I'm not that evil)

Something awful happened to you there didn't it?!
It is indeed thriving but I'm going to discontinue my defence of the place lest it prompts you to find a box of matches and set loose your arsonistic (?) tendencies!

Does any one have thoughts on the best route to the MK Dins ground by car?

M1 or cross county via Aylesbury?

I worked in MK for a few years. Always went via M25/M1. Get off M1 at either J13 or J14. If you know how MK roundabouts work (H and V roads) its easy. Ground is on H9 Groveway.

Always used various cross country routes via Aylesbury or nearby and found them much better than the motorways, Depends where you start from I suppose as I am already NW from Reading.
