SPECULATION - Return of Jem Karacan?

by Lower West » 30 Dec 2015 19:02

Things haven't turned out well for him in Turkey.

What could be easier than returning to his roots?

Immediately we would have a Captain worthy of the armband.

Shane Long and Alex McCarthy are languishing on the bench or in the reserves for their current clubs - wonder if they would want to come back? Money talks, so in all three cases my guess is "not a chance". (Although Shane notched a couple last time out so may be back in favour at Soton shortly).

Long or McCarthy a def yes - not Jem.

With Quinn (hopefully) back in midfield soon and Tish back we do not need him. They are better ball winning players and can actually pass the ball to a team mate.

Big fat no to Karacan from me, and any other sane person.

A poor man's Quinn.

What the hell is it with Reading fans that we can only look backwards to ex-players or ex-managers?

Probably because it's more realistic than looking forward to the players that we actually need.....but won't get?

It's just a nice thought that they actually give a sh1t about the club they once left

Options in January window are going to be fairly limited. McD will want to bring in players he knows.

Brilliant. He knows Long, Gylfi and Bertrand so I look forward to this.

NO THANK YOU!!!!

Bang average player who was on incredible wages for his ability. Good guy, runs a lot, works hard, but Tish is better!

Move on!

But they don't give a sh1t, and you know they don't. They might say nice things on social media or on Sky Sports News but the money is the only thing that matters. Wasn't that why Karacan, Pearce and Federici left in the first place? Will they suddenly refind their loyalty now it hasn't worked out for them elsewhere? How about other returning players - Kitson, Shorey, Little? How did they work out?

Was it? SC didn't rate the kit man , the goalkeeping coach (who is now employed by Aresenal), etc etc etc. Total clear out.

Wasted loads of money on mercenary loan players and buying Hurtado. These players came to Reading to showcase themselves.

Yes. They were offered new contracts at lower salaries, but decided to move elsewhere. Ii don't blame them but let's not fool ourselves into thinking these players have special levels of loyalty to the club. They were here a long time while it suited them. As soon as it didn't, they were off.

No ta. We have plenty of good midfielders.

Unless he's up for playing right back at a reasonable wage. Then, oh my yes.

How many times has Jem played in the last few years and put in a genuinely top performance that is worth replacing Williams, Norwood, Tish, Quinn??

Scored a pretty good goal against Watford last season.
