Sanguine I think it will be the biggest LOL in history if Arsenal don't win it now.

Not really. But then that's football fans isn't it.

It would be a huge achievement for Arsenal to win the league this season. I can't help but have a soft spot for a club that has stuck with its manager through bad times and may be about to reap rewards again. They play football that is terrific to watch, and as RR notes, are top of the league with a lot of players missing.

'No excuse for failing' sums up why managers get the sack after six months and players are earning £300k a week. Too much 'now culture'.

How would it be such a big achievement for a club that big. 41mill on Ozil, 35 mill on Sanchez.
City have been bumbling and stumbling and Arsenal are still only a couple of points ahead. If I was a fan of that club I'd be livid at being charged stupid money and being happy with only top 4 every season whilst the club profits and has (if its to be believed) 200mill sitting in the bank. Their sitting top now and Wenger still talks of buying noone but some Egyptian unknown. If Reading were in that position I'd be fuming if we didn't strengthen from that position.

You seem to know a lot about football :?

So who do you reckon Arsenal should buy to "strengthen"? - surely being top of the league half way through suggests they don't need to strengthen, instead they just need to maintain. They have Sanchez, Cazorla, Wilshere, Arteta, Welbeck and Coquelin all returning from injury to help boost a team that is still top of the league without them :|

Brum Royal Whilst I would like to see Arsenal win it, as Darren Fletcher was pointing out at the beginning of 606 on Saturday, they have the most difficult fixture list in terms of away games left of the potential champions. From memory (and this might not be 100% right), there's trips to Spurs, City, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Stoke and Everton all in there so it's not quite Arsenal's to throw away as many would have you believe.

Yeah, its almost as if they got a lot of points in the first half of the season because of the way that cookie crumbled.

Of all the 'big' teams, I'd rather see Arsenal win it, then Fergie-era United, then ... I dunno ... Klopp?

I also think if he was that good he would have gone somewhere in the summer - he's good but not £9m good.

when you look at who in the PL pops up with goals here or there, then yeah I can see him being an average goalscorer at an average to lower ranked team in the PL. Happy to be proved wrong but just have never seen anything in him to show he is good enough for a top end club.

He was injured in the summer and QPR put a ridiculous price tag on his head so i think that put people off. He's out of contract in the summer too.

I thought he'd end up at Newcastle or somewhere like that but I guess the fee for an injured player stopped anyone taking him, but I agree he isn't the type of quality that is likely to be the first on the teamsheet at a top club.

As a back-up to Giroud I think he'd be a good option for Arsenal.

if his contract is coming up then I can see someone taking a p(c)unt on him as a backup on the cheap.

Rumour is Benzema is feeling unsettled. The should have broken the bank in the summer for him. Now would be a real statment to your fans and city.
The should go for it. They have plenty in midfield.
The other area they lack is possibly a CD. Howedes from Shalke or Winston Reid would be very good signings.
They have the money but do they have the ambition.

Benzema has been unsettled and joining Arsenal since he was playing for Lyon.

He is a Perez favourite and Zidane is a big influence on him as they both come from the same background.

Benzema now has one of his closest friends managing him. Will the papers still claim him as unsettled?

Although he may be forced to spend more time in France and less in Madrid as part of the blackmail investigation over sex-tapes featuring his national team-mate Valbuena.

Well the Spanish newspaper that rumoured Benitez going has also rumoured Perez is tired of Benzema, especially with the problems in France. Kroos could also be out.

As far Howedes goes, it not about "is he better than what they've got", its more about depth. Koscielny and Motorsucker are better I agree but if they lose one of those their backup is poor. Who are they gonna put in there. Montreal? Debuchy? Bellarin? Chambers? Flamini? All poor in central defence. You only had to look at the shambles in Munich to see that. Its the one main position that could well undo their challenge.
He gambled with an unfit Koscielny at Southampton. Look what happened.
And as the comment previously stated City could get better.....there are signs.

You've forgotten Gabriel. Given that City have spent millions (nearly 70m combined on Mangala and Ottomendi) on providing cover for Kompany that hasn't actually done the trick it seems an odd area in which to make the comparison.

Happy now?

Arsenal have made a £44.6million transfer offer to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a top Spanish journalist.

There ya go. Mind you dont know much about him and that's a big price tag. Must be pretty highly rated, and his record goes with that rating it seems.

Has there been another Stoke/Ramsey incident I've forgotten about or are Stoke fans really booing him for getting his leg broken by Shawcross?

Stoke fans are a bit simple, they love their beloved thug Ryan.

A big :| at all the commentators thinking he was getting booed for having the audacity of getting his leg broken

Firstly, it was his unwillingness to accept an apology from Shawcross. And he also just ends up being the outfield poster boy for Wenger's constant besmirching and whining about always getting beat by Stoke
