Huddersfield Replay

I've a funny feeling that the club could be underestimating ticket demand for this by only opening East and West Lower to Reading fans, despite the £10 price of a ticket.

I can't see there being more than about 8k there. Right decision tbf, they can always open the upper west if needed.

I really see this as a strange decision as the pricing is v gd and if we get a decent draw for the fourth round I can't see the attendance being so low only 2 stands needed, its not the league cup :?: :?:

Unreserved too, I agree with the OP I think the club may have underestimated this one.

The club know what they're dong, they're the ones with the insight here not us.

The Ryan's Royals match last year was £10 and we still got a sub 18,000 crowd, so I'd be amazed if we spill into the North for this one.

If sales exceed expectations then I think the North Stand and Upper West will still be there and they can start selling tickets for them, it's not like they will be dismantling the unused stands for the day !
I guess doing it this way avoids a low crowd being spread round the ground and reduces operating costs.

Take away the away support we Re probably averaging about 13k this year and probably less than that with season ticket holders. This sort of fixture is on average less than half a league fixture attendance so on that maths club are spot on.

If it's wrong, open a stand up. Simple.

whats the point of buying a season ticket to reserve a seat, only to be told to piss off and find your own seat!

Like the East and West only policy. Forces me to watch a game from another perspective for once. Variety is the spice of life. Imagine getting shirty about not being able to sit in the exact same plac......oh

If it is unreserved seating why on earth does the online ticketing give you the option to find seats together and then allocate seats (in Row B!)

Because that's the way the system works. It can't just sell 'blank' tickets, it sells actual seats but you then don't have to actually sit in them.

I hate unreserved seating. It'll probably be a rubbish game. IN anyway. Gets me out the house.

I think it's more to save from stewarding/staffing aspect pal. Either way I'll be there getting shanted in the East oi oi!

I'm hoping the recent cup magic feel can spill into this season and depending on who the next game is against that will be an incentive.

Agreed. I was in two minds as to whether to bother to go and that has helped me make my mind up,

And RoyalGinger - some of us really struggle to get to weekday evening games due to work commitments. That often means racing like a maniac and still only arriving at the stadium as the game is about to kickoff. The benefit of having a season ticket/reserved seat is that at least when you arrive at the last minute you know where to go to and your seat will be there for you, rather than having to hunt around for a couple of seats together.

I can't really see any reason why the club couldn't have given season ticket holders (in East and Lower West) 2-3 days to buy their seats before releasing those seats on general sale.

Keeping it reserved seating and closing the North Stand means hardly anyone who sits in the North will be able to buy a ticket, as most of the East will be reserved for people who might not turn up...
