Ground not particularly well served by public transport...Milton Keynes Central station is about 4 miles away, Bletchley is about 2 miles, and Stony Stratford (which is not on the main line) is about 1 mile away

This must be a new ground for many, so I would have expected higher ticket sales than what is being reported on here, especially as it isn't too far from Reading either

Stony is not on the main line or any line - it hasn't got a station. Are you thinking of Wolverton, which you could walk to from Stony and is on the mainline

He probably meant Fenny Stratford station.

Anything shy of 2k from us is a poor effort in my opinion. Even if MK Dons took 1k to us. Its not far, its a new ground and ticket prices are reasonable.

Really looking forward to this!

Don't know how they coordinated it but Leeds fans were all over Stony Stratford before their game at MK. (mind you there were so many of them they were probably in every surrounding town and village)

Plenty of good pubs with real ale in Stony if you fancy it but you'd have to taxi it to the stadium afterwards.
And it's a really attractive town to boot!

As others have said Bletchley or Fenny Stratford are possibilities but a decent walk.

Going to the Caldecotte Arms. Fayre and Square pub. Does decent enough food and not too far to drive after.

IN for my local game.

Drinking/eating options:-
1. Central MK: Wetherspoons 5 mins walk from MK station, and a 20 min bus ride (no. 1, twice every hour from the Santander offices near the pub). Also another 'Spoons (Secklow Hundred) and an All Bar One along with various restaurants at The Hub, about 10 mins walk from the station
2. Fenny Stratford: Red Lion (off Simpson Road) by the canal, Swan Hotel (Watling St), Chequers (High St) all ale pubs of varying quality, and about 25 mins walk to the stadium complex
3. Stony Stratford: a good 5 or 6 miles away but some decent pubs (the origin of the phrase Cock and Bull story is from those two establishments), probably 15 minutes in a taxi to the ground
4. Bletchley: hmm, Enigma Tavern, at a push, 25 mins walk
5. Stadium complex: Doubletree hotel on site, with new restaurants combined with the cinema complex just outside the north stand (our part) e.g. TGI Friday's, Pizza Express, Nando's etc. ASDA and Ikea adjacent to the south side, and KFC/McD's drive-throughs to east. Presumably beer in the ground as well

Parking:
Stadium itself - think Madejski (busy, expensive, nightmare to leave)
Stadium surrounds e.g. MK1 Retail park, cinema complex, ASDA/Ikea: clamping, £££ fines etc.
Park & Walk off Bond Ave: £5, 5-10 min walk
Industrial estates:-
- East of stadium (e.g. Dawson Road, Clarke Road): some street parking, but have heard of cars being broken into there though
- West (e.g. Peverel Drive): gets busy early due to proximity to ground, avoid units trading
- South west (e.g. Third Ave, Lyon Rd): street parking, avoid units trading
Residential:-
- Ashland has restrictions
- Beanhill, Netherfield, Tinkers Bridge not recommended...

In summary: good ground, no obvious pubs nearby, tricky parking in the locale - sound familiar?

Just looked at the menu. Some utter filth on there!! So, very possibly IN for pre match fried chicken and Gammon :) ( What an odd combo!!)

Frighteningly so.

What's their PA announcer like?

I've been told he provides a rhythm and a pulse unlike anywhere else in the north Buckinghamshire area...
