Victor Meldrew If he were to have the same impact as a certain elderly Jimmy Quinn who was then past his sell-by date at Bournemouth then we should welcome him with open arms.

Exactly the point I was trying to make about Roberts

If we're poaching veteran surplus to requirements strikers from Bournemouth, I'd rather have Glenn Murray.

Can score and assist. Seems good with his head and even scored from a corner!!

Plus he scored a bicycle kick, and that makes him ten times better...

Would be happy with this. Will do till the end of the season, then hopefully Liburd and Samuel can have a go next season.

At best an underwhelming signing. I'd rather get Samuel blooded into the side.

Then I hope his current strike-rate gets to underwhelm us all

Samuel will get his chance

Last season played 2197 minutes for 15 Championship goals (1 every 146 minutes)

Including cup games he played 2485 minutes and scored 17 goals (1 every 146 minutes)

That is damn good but note 11 League + 3 Cup Assists

31 Major contributions (Goal or Assist) = 1 every 80 (EIGHTY) minutes

Previous season 17 goals and an assist, 1 goal every 164 minutes

Decent enough record but he isn't getting any younger. We need to stop with these stop gap signings and sign players for the long term who we can build a side around.

If we are paying anything over a million for him then I think the club is really stupid knowing he will only be here for a year.

Ian Royal In what way could it be a Jason Roberts sort of signing?

Roberts was a player with a pedigree of scoring goals where ever he went and was vastly experienced at the highest level of English football. Kermorgant has had a two or three good seasons in the Championship, has never done anything at PL level and at 34 you think he can step back down to the Championship and pick up where he left off in a new team?

Unless you mean we'll pay him for two and a half years whilst getting six months of actual service and a handful of goals. In which case, yay. Not.

So Brian is quoted in the getreading article comparing him to the Jason Roberts signing... Ian royaLOL making a oxf*rd of himself since 2004
