Ian Royal
WoodleyRoyal
Ian Royal In what way could it be a Jason Roberts sort of signing?

Roberts was a player with a pedigree of scoring goals where ever he went and was vastly experienced at the highest level of English football. Kermorgant has had a two or three good seasons in the Championship, has never done anything at PL level and at 34 you think he can step back down to the Championship and pick up where he left off in a new team?

Unless you mean we'll pay him for two and a half years whilst getting six months of actual service and a handful of goals. In which case, yay. Not.

So Brian is quoted in the getreading article comparing him to the Jason Roberts signing... Ian royaLOL making a oxf*rd of himself since 2004

Well he's also wrong on this occasion then, seeing as their career is nothing similar, he won't provide anything like the same level of higher level experience, he's only stepping down a level in the most technical of terms, and he's not going to be the catalyst to win us the league. Not keen on the signing, I'd rather give players like Liburd, Samuel, Cardwell and Novakovich a chance, but he probably won't be a) as injury ruined as Roberts, b) as costly. And he may score a few goals, though I have my doubts.

Also, what Get Reading article and what's the comparison, seeing as I'm taking it entirely on faith from you he's made any. Which seems quite stupid of me.

I think Getreading articles are sometimes posted on line so you could check and see before commenting !
Brian simply said getting an old head in can be a good move and gave the example of Roberts as something he had done in the past that had worked. He didn't say anything comparing this guy with Roberts apart from to say that they looked a bit alike.

I hope we do not sign this guy. Roberts was 32 and Kermogant is 34 and his legs have gone as he can hardly run.

Royal Rother Jeez. Just play the fcuking youngsters ffs.

Liburd played the other day and wasn't very good. Samuel is still out on loan. This will give those two a much better chance of breaking through than if we'd splashed out on someone like Washington.

Guess we've been priced out of the Connor Washington chase then. Damn Peterborough wanting money for their players....

Tommio
Ian Royal
Tommio Kermogant scores goals, as did Roberts. Kermogant could come in and score goals which could help boost our squad, which is what Roberts did.

So any player who scores goals is a Jason Roberts sort of signing? I think you might have to refine your comparisons a bit, they're a touch broad.

Why don't you stop questioning everything I'm saying? Perhaps if you stopped being pedantic you'd know what I was saying. We signed Roberts in January which sparked great form for us. I was simply suggesting that kermogant could do that. Most normal people know what I'm saying.

I know what you are saying!

Roberts was more of a leader who enjoyed much more success.

Silly to write someone off after 15 minutes. Give him 15 matches. and he'll score at least five goals.

I'm not writing him off. I rate him. That's why I'd rather have someone like Kermogant come in short term, so we can ease him and Samuel in, than bring in someone like Washington who's likely to limit their chances even more.

Should bring strength in the air, if he signs, which is something we've not had since Noel Hunt went

Seem to recall the last aged striker we brought in from Bournemouth wasn't too shabby either and as short term 18 month fix while we get sorted out with what we need to do up front it wouldn't be too bad I suppose.

When did we have success with Pog as a 'big man' up front? He was a huge let down for the hype and wages. Kitson and Roberts were big men we had success with. Doyle never struck me as big (hwo tall is he?), although he could hold the ball up well.
