AthleticoSpizz Sooooo

Today he was sh1te ( as we're all but Habsi and Ferdy by most accounts ) last week he was immense

You sound exactly like the sort of Reading fan that we are lacking.

When was he immense?
This player is another Michael Meaker-he is generally bad and people are so surprised when he has an average game that all the previous dross is forgotten.
No league goals this season.
Also please don't question my support-this is a website for discussion and has no bearing on what we might say or do on match day.

Robson-Kanu isn't a striker, he's a substitute winger. Scoring goals isn't really what he's judged for.

This season, he's set up five goals in only 12(6) appearances. At least two of those assists were absolute peaches, including a brilliant cross for Williams' goal against Derby. Next are Norwood and Vydra, who have set up three goals in far more appearances.

He's generally a good but unremarkable player who has about one great game in ten, and he's currently justifying his selection.

Has to be said he should have had more assists were it not for Vydra being vvank.

But you can't count "almost assists"

Release him in the summer he is a terrible player. I don't care if he came from the academy I just don't rate him.

1 league goal in 18 months as a striker or winger is pathetic.

Kanu makes John Oster look like Ronaldo!!

Not exactly young any more. This is the finished product. Probably on high wages (thanks Adkins) after his last extension. Get rid.

FYI
Whoscored.com counts "key passes" though. Obviously, utterly subjective. But:

Per game:
Norwood - 2.2
Vydra - 1.6 :?
Quinn - 1.6
McCleary - 1.5
HRK - 1.3
Piazon - 1.3
Sa - 1.1
Williams - 1

Total
Norwood - 59 (interestingly* split fairly evenly between long and short)
Vydra - 31
McCleary - 27 (interestingly* split fairly evenly between long and short)
Williams - 25
HRK - 23
Blackman - 23
Sa - 20

Assuming Whoscored uses the Opta data, those are "passes which lead to a recipient shooting but not scoring" i.e. assists where the team mate misses.

Oh ok. That makes it more objective, if not the full picture.

PLEASE STOP PICKING HIM GAME AFTER GAME.
HOW DID ANYONE GIVE HIM THE NUMBER 9 SHIRT. IT IS AN INSULT TO PREVIOUS PLAYERS WHO WORE IT ,HAD ABILITY AND TRIED.
HE IS NOT A NUMBER 9 (EVEN IF HE THOUGHT HE WAS A COUPLE OF SEASONS AGO). HE IS NOT A WINGER. HE IS NOT A UP TO CHAMPIONSHIP STANDARD.
DONT USE THE EXCUSE WE HAVE GOT NO-ONE ELSE NOW THAT BLACKMANS GONE, HE WAS NUMBER 9 BEFORE THAT HAPPENED AND IT WAS STILL THE SAME THEN.
TOO MANY STEP OVERS,NOT ENOUGH TACKLING & ABYSMAL MARKING AND POSITIONING AGAINST OPPOSITION PLAYERS.
GOOD AT POINTING AT OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO HIS TEAM MATES THE ONES HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MARKING THOUGH!

He's much more prolific than that. It's 2 league goals. He got a penalty against Norwich City last season and scored at Derby last week.

I didn't think he was that bad either, he just looked knackered, but he is still one of our high earners and more needs to be expected

More to the point is his contract is up this summer and three yrs ago at this stage of the season he suddenly started playing better and earned himself a very lucrative contract, is that going to happen again?

Somebody tell him-there is a difference between the League and the FA cup.
In FA Cup (glory games?) he is relatively prolific.

HRK what are we to do? He splits opinion doesn't he.

I think he's a fine young, hard working player, who faithfully follows team orders.
A manager's delight to select.

Not everyone has coaching experience, but if you've ever managed a team at any level you'll know attitude is as important as ability, more so as you go down the pyramid.

He ticks the box in every aspect of a professional footballer's make-up.
He is a full international for Wales, who barring injury will play on Europe's highest stage during the summer.

You all better prepare yourself, for if he excels in any way during the Euros we could lose an important and loyal footballer.

I agree about attitude having coached a fair bit, but loyalty no, his brother who is his agent negotiated him a very lucrative contract 3 yrs ago, and he is handsomely rewarded he shows no leadership and hasn't fulfilled his potential or repeated his cup or welsh form on a consistent basis, and as for wearing the number 9 centre forward shirt

Probably not yet fully match fit.
