Orlando Vs Kermorgant

by Top Flight » 24 Jan 2016 15:33

Having witnessed Kermorgants debut performance on Saturday. I can't help thinking what the Fricking heck are Reading FC playing at.... Orlando is 27, Kermorgant is 34. Orlando is that much stronger, better hold up play, a bit more quality I feel than Yann.

Surely Orlando is a better player than Kermorgant? What does everyone else think? This transfer business makes no sense to me.

I think its a bit harsh, but not unexpected  , to try and judge someone on a 25 minute début when Reading are chasing the game.

But crack on.

Thank god you are not in business!!

Also has it not occurred to you that Sa is a rather unpleasant individual, has no time for players or born into the Reading way with a wife who hardy ever leaves her apartment because Reading is a merda hole!!

45 minutes.

I haven't said that Kermorgant didn't play well or that he isn't a good player.
I just have the feeling that Orlando is a better player based on what I have seen of the two of them and would be a better long-term option for the Royals. There are only 10 days of the transfer window left so there won't be much opportunity to judge Kermorgant or this situation.

I would like a decent explanation from Brian as to what the hell has gone on with Orlando because this situation makes so little sense in terms of what I have witnessed on the pitch.

See if this helps you make sense of it all, stats seem to indicate that Kermorgant is a better goal scorer by a big margin

Kermorgant

2002–2004 49 (11)
2004–2005 29 (14)
2005–2007 59 (16)
2007–2009 67 (13)
2009–2011 20 (1)
2010–2011 26 (3)
2011–2014 89 (29)
2014– 2016 57 (24)

Sa

2007–2009 11 (2)
2007–2008 26 (6)
2009–2011 (0)
2010–2011 16 (3)
2011–2012 7 (1)
2012–2014 39 (18)
2014–2015 33 (14)
2015– 19 (5)

No they don't? They seem to indicate that Kermorgant plays more games than Sá. Sá actually has a better goals/games ratio.

Kermie looked quicker and more urgent to me. Less likely to fall over and sulk under minimal contact or nut someone.

Regardless, It's 45 minutes of football and cleary not just a simple choice of who is better.

The recent Watts article where McDermott's quoted as saying he's in talks with another club and is on the verge of leaving is probably some sort of clue.

Well that could be because the club/McDermott don't want him rather than Sá wanting out tbf

Too early to take sides on the player debate yet but the article with McDermott's quote could equally be a clue to the fact that McDermott doesn't like the player and therefore has told him he has no future and would be better off talking to other clubs. In itself it cannot be interpreted as a reliable clue that Sa doesn't want to be here. I could just as easily counter with the recent picture of Sa on the bench where he is clearly happy and laughing - that could suggest he is happy here.

Sez who?

Pretty obvs m8.

The owners are willing to make a fairly sizeable loss on him after just six months. Doubt they'd be happy to do that if Brian had just walzed in and decided he doesn't like him without even giving him a chance.

Brian was looking for a player that fit Sa's description, so can't see him just walzing in here and deciding he doesn't like him without even giving him a chance.

Plus Charles Watts has confirmed that his pcunt wife isn't happy in glorious Reading.

Thought Kermorgant looked likely to be a much better part of our team than Sa (there's a difference to being a better player). He was more mobile, more willing to chase and less theatrical.
But let's wait a few games, although I do understand some Reading fans prefer to adopt entrenched positions before they actually have anything to base those on.
