West Stand Man Villages and missing idiots come to mind ( and I don't mean NH).

**Shrug** I don't hugely care for your opinions either tbh.

genome Isn't it funny how we were mostly eulogising about the summer transfer window, but:

Vydra - underperformed

Disagree. All strikers get patches when the goals don't come but he has scored six, had assists and contributed all over the pitch.

If we could sign him, I'd LOVE it.

Piazon - underperformed

4 Goals and 3 assists in 1,040 minutes
That's 260 minutes per goal and a goal-or-assist 148 minutes.

If that is underperforming...

McShane - decent

Amen!

Quinn - good but injured for a long spell

Clearly the manager's fault that a player gets crocked

John - not fit enough for the starting XI

But getting fitter and already has 1 goal and 2 assists in 550 minutes
a goal or assist every 183 minutes. That is hardly terrible

Sa - sold after 6 months

It happens. Or are mangers now supposed to check out wives too?

Bond - underperformed
Highly thought of when we got him, and we thought he was a steal.
May still come good. Not every player starts as a superstar

Al-Habsi - some high profile clangers
and some decent saves, and he was a BACK-UP goalie

Liburd - can't get in the team
A punt, cost SFA, doing well in the back-up teams

Taylor - decent if unspectacular
Do FBs need to be "spectacular"?

Hurtado - can't get in the team

Can't comment on him until we see him, really

Alex Fernandez - decent but also can't get in the team

Good player. Has looked class every time I've seen him.
Only 346 minutes, but has a goal

Not exactly inspiring!

So now we've sold a guy who despite possibly having some minor faults off the pitch, on the pitch was one of our best players, and effectively replaced him with an ageing 34 year old who has a modest record at this level.....ok then, the club once again underlining its lowly ambitions.

I haven't been on here in a while, couldn't be bothered to come on and talk about the pathetic performance that 3000 of us had to stomach in Milton Keynes ten days ago but I have still seen nothing to suggest I was wrong to think that bringing McD back was nothing other than a backwards step. McD clearly didn't like Orlando and never gave him a chance from the start, but it appears that HRK has become the new McAnuff/Leigertwood player (where you can't get dropped no matter how shit you play because you're the managers favourite).

What an absolute joke this season has turned into, we have still not recovered from the capitulation 4000 of us witnessed at Craven Cottage 3 months ago and the farce that followed it with Clarke, who it seems shot himself in the foot. Quite possibly there is a lot more to all that than meets the eye and we probably won't know the full story for years, if we ever do.

Of course, an even bigger farce followed what with the sentimental and naive re appointment of a limited yes man manager who will be happy to take a far smaller salary and won't complain about the many unfulfilled promises from the club every season. Not saying Mc didn't do a good job when he was last here but seriously could we not have got someone better? Too many people are mitsaking 'nice guy' for 'good manager'. No real investment from our shadowy shareholders either, perhaps the Madejski influence is turning out to be a negative one because to me it looks like we're only going one way and that's backwards.

Oh well, there's quite a few grounds in League One I haven't been to yet.

Well, I wasn't actually blaming anyone - just thought it was disappointing how the signings have turned out. When we bought or loaned them it was very exciting. There is more to a signing than stats by the way. Let me elucid8

Vydra - He's improved lately but I don't think you can call him a successful signing. That amount of money for one year I would've liked him to be on 15+ by now.
Piazon - His goals and assists are decent, but if you watch the matches he has played in many will tell you he is a luxury. Far too lightweight for the Championship and case in point, we improved a lot against Sheff Wed when he went off at half-time.
McShane - As I said, decent.
Quinn - When he has played I've loved him. I wasn't blaming the manager for a player being injury-prone. He is a good signing though.
John - Doesn't play enough and when he has he reminds me of Kebe. He is clumsy and loses the ball, occasionally capable of a bit of magic. I wouldn't call him a successful signing as of yet.
Sa - This has been covered. Not a successful signing if we sell him after 6 months for whatever reason. Disappointing because I liked him.
Bond - He may come good but he has not been brilliant and if we signed him to be the number one, you have to question the signing as he is inexperienced.
Al-Habsi - For an experienced goalkeeper he has cost us points. He's also arguably won us points lately, but in a goalkeeper I want someone reliable. Jury is out as he has improved recently.
Liburd - I'll grant he is a punt.
Taylor - I wasn't being critical of Taylor here in particularly, he's been steady. I'll say he's been a success.
Hurtado - Probably another punt - but my impression was he would be seeing first team action. We've not seen it, so it's not a successful signing.
Alex Fernandez - I am disappointed with this one as what I have seen has been very good and he's not getting the game time he deserves.

Sa didn't want to be here.

How many times shall I type that? The club don't wield absolute control over who stays and who goes.

Kermogant is better anyway.

We're midtable. It's all a bit drab. Take a step back and suck in the mediocrity.

Just more names to be added to the list of dreadfully unsuccessful signings made since the summer of 2012. Since we have had three different managers in that time, the only constant in terms of recruitment in all that time is Mr Teflon himself, Nick(y) Hammond the Used-Car salesman :!:

Tbf that's what happens when you constantly scrape the barrel for players. Low risk but the return isn't going to be inspiring.

I don't think Vydra, Piazon, John, McShane, Quinn were scraping the barrel. I think most Championship sides would love to have signed them. I find it strange they haven't worked out as well as we were expecting.

None of those players were scraping the barrel, with the exception of Al-Habsi and Liburd.

Meant our overall approach. We don't spend much on transfers. Can't really expect much from them.

S'okay, that's our way - low risk punts, free agents and old players for the most part.

Well maybe, but a fair few of the loan deals have options to buy attached, and the outlay on Vydra's loan fee alone was sizable. It may be low risk, but I would say that I expected more from this team. In summer I was very happy with the way our signings had gone. Just because we didn't spend much doesn't mean we haven't got capable personnel.

No time like the present, RoyallyFcuked. I'm sure you'll see plenty of clubs that are thanking their lucky stars they're not RFC.

Probably the inclusion of a transfer window within that 2 months has something to do with it
