bracksroyal10 Getting rid and yet we allow HRK to put in poor performance after poor performance every week.

You obviously have not seen a single game HRK has played this season then... :?

From Despair To Where?
CholseyRoyal I am sure the owners and in particular Pieroj are having a lot of influence on whom we buy and sell. I am certain I read somewhere that Brian had no say in the sale of Blackman, it was forced on him. That was a quote from Brian himself!

You probably read it on here and it was probably posted as bait.

Whether Brian wanted him or not, he had 6 months left on his contract, showed no willingness to sign a new one and Derby offered a £4m deal. All for a player we would gladly have sold for Tuppence last summer. Absolute no brainer and I'm sure Brian knew that too.

It sounds as if I was correct going by what Brian told Charles Watts this morning. Rakels is an "owner's signing" apparently. Charles will be going into more detail about what Brian said when he writes it up later today.

Correct about what? What's that got to do with selling Blackman? We sold Blackman because he wasn't going to sign a new contract and the offer was too good to turn down. If the owners think Rakkels offers better value than Washington, if they are writing the cheques, that's their prerogative.

Victor Meldrew So, do people think we will get another winger in, especially with G Mac being so injury-prone?
IMHO we could do with some real pace out wide to supply our newly- signed striker(s)

I'm pretty sure we're moving away from wingers.
Not sure we'll sell Garath though - as he's looked dangerous for pretty much his entire Reading career.

As others have said I'd hope it means that Stacey will get a chance to be involved but I don't think Hurtado leaving has much bearing on the situation as he's hardly been involved. Since we sold Blackman we've needed a viable alternative on the right side as we don't have a lot of width in the squad now. It's just 3 first team wingers now isn't it (Robson-Kanu, McCleary and John).

I wonder were Rakels will end up playing though. His clips make it look like he's a bit of a left sided forward.

It's interesting that we keep being linked with central midfielders too. Perhaps Fernandez might be given a chance on the right after Williams had a go last weekend.

I thought Hurtado looked pretty good against Everton but obviously Brian didn't rate him and Clarke didn't exactly rush to put him in the side either.

We look pretty thin on the wings now. Hopefully Fosu and Stacey start getting some time from the bench.

I think we should retire the number <whatever number he wore> shirt in his honour. Reading will never see his like again.

Mark my words - this decision will come back to bite us, just like Antonio, and erm....that other one.

Good luck Paula.

For the same money as buying Washington we could trial 5 strikers.

RFC bought Lita on his potential due to his excellent scoring record in leagues below. Championship proved to a step too far for him. Nor did he want it enough.

After joining us Lita spent 9 years at Championship level or above. 5 years in the PL I think.

I think Lita is a twat as much as the next man does. But your point is nonsensical.

He wasn't far off double figures in the Premier League in our first season IIRC?

But how good was he really? I always thought he was never as good as what he should have been. His career post RFC bears this out.

He was one of those players who failed after some early promise and then toured teams who bought him on reputation and failed to revive him.

He had ability, just not application or the right attitude. He had two short spells where he scored very well amongst long barren runs for us.

I will never forgive Lita

I had backed Armstrong first goal and 3-0 (v Watford) and was sitting on £2,500
when Lita scored our fourth in the 96th minute
