Mr Optimist I work with someone in Manchester who comes from Bury and knows the family, they are Man Yoo fans apparently, including Nick, so you would have thought he would have been really up for playing his boyhood heroes last night.

That's rubbish.
He's a professional footballer.
Rooney still puts in a (fat) shift against Everton.
If anything he'd try even harder in the hope they might sign him

Isn't that what Mr Optimist said....

We're looking for others to share in our (prior) frustrations. I'm sure the Germans have a word for it.

sandman He was one of their more lively players and had a couple of chances, one that wasn't too far away.

Overall United shut Derby down very well.

Shows the Champ./PL gap though that given all the money Derby have spent they still can't hold a struggling PL team at home in the cup.

Oh and Derby fan's have a thread on Blackman....

Don't wet yourself. What I was saying, thank you Hoop Blah, was that players will raise their games against boyhood teams, former clubs, teams from a higher division, the league leaders, if the opposition excites them. Do you think our professionals would be more geed up playing a cup game at home to Man United or Walsall?

I thought he was decent last night and harshly substituted

He was totally anonymous up until his headed chance, but grew into the game more after that.

Surprised he got taken off tbf. Derby looked poor after the substitution and his replacement Camera did absolutely nothing.

That Abdoul Camara is pony. I'd be fuming if we wasted £2m on him. They didn't need him either

A petulant gesture did not aid his cause in that FA Cup match.

So he went from starting every game for us to being a sub and getting 10mins here and there, for Derby....surely thats where he was in his career 2-3 years ago?!

By all accounts he has stayed very much off the boil since his move and since his purple patch earlier in the season. But Derby have been playing him wide right too. Which is bizarre. He was most threatening for us through the middle.

I hadn't realised he'd got dropped yet.

Having had a quick look it seems he also got bumped down into the u21s for a run out as well. Quite the fall from grace but it's no real surprise is it considering what he turned out for us over his time here.
