Hoop Blah
stealthpapes Actually, if you want the best example of Terry, take a look at what he did to Capello in 2010.

Well yes, exactly. For all the talk of him being this great leader and man for the moment and caring captain who looks out for his team-mates, he does seem to look after number one well.

There was also that stage where he threw his toys out about a new contract and nearly left for City, then apparently asked for a 9 year contract was it? With a clause that would give him a chance to be Chelsea Manager at some point too.

Him coming out with this now, and pretty much on deadline day, stinks of him trying to force something.

But then speak to any of the youth at Chelsea and they will tell you how he goes out of his way to help them out with advice and other things. There are two John Terry's. The one you choose to believe by reading the tabloids and the Captain, leader, legend that everyone knows at the club.

It's almost like I referenced that very part of his character in the post you replied to!

So, what do you think about it all Kes?

I've said above.

But lets be honest. It's nowhere near as bad as City's treatment of Pellegrini.

Sorry, don't think you gave any opinion on how they're treating him. What do you think they should do? Should Terry have made all this public? Was it him just playing to the crowd and/or trying to force the issue because he desperately wants to stay?

Fair enough though, if you can't formulate an opinion on how your club is treating it's legend, leader, then fair enough, I thought you had more about you.

Like I said we don't know what goes on behind the scenes so it's all hypothetical.

Even if this is true?

No Fixed Abode Perhaps the club already have their new man in place

Pretty shoddy way to treat Guus. he could still win two trophies and qualify for Europe / avoid relegation

Yep - Owners wanted Pep and were willing to ditch Pellegrini way before the season is over and they're still in the hunt for 4 trophies.

No. See answering a straight question isn't that difficult. See if you can do it.

If Chelsea have their man in place don't you think that's a poor way to treat Guus,? You seem very upset on behalf on Pellegrino.

Interesting take on that in The Times today. Oliver Kays view on it was that City have Pep in place now because they've been courting him since 2010. They've appointed the Execs who are close to him and have worked Pelligrini's contract so that they were looking when he was going to be available.

They're not ditching Pellegrini, they're just continuing their long term plan.

RE. Vision. Guus may have told Roman he's only taking charge until the end of the season so in which case it's not harsh on Guus at all.

It doesn't matter if he didn't get to have his contract renewed, he can just watch someone else have theirs renewed, grab the papers and wave them around like they're his.

Pelligrini may have told City he only wanted to manage for the length of his contract, in which case it's not harsh on Pelligrini at all.

Or Roman put Guus in charge until the end of the season because he wanted Guardiola and now Chelsea have once again missed out on Pep just like they did in 2012.

In the balance of fairness to those who let their prejudice cloud their judgement of his playing ability

Standing back he was a great player of football. One of the finest English players of his generation.

Arsène Wenger believes John Terry will move into coaching once his playing career ends, describing the Chelsea defender as a leader and a “great coach on the pitch”.

“He was not only a great player, he certainly still is, but he was also a great coach on the pitch,” said Wenger. “I saw him here once at London Colney playing with the Under-21s and the way he coached the team as a player was absolutely marvellous. He was a real leader and he had a great career as well, let’s not forget that.

Ok you can all go back to Kes baiting now 8)

That graphic uses the term EPL and is therefore null and void.
