No Fixed Abode In fact it stinks tbh. Far worse than sacking any manager after a short run of poor games. City should be ashamed at their treatment of him.

His contract runs out at the end of the season. No different than Chelsea not offering John Terry a new contract and signing Hector.

PieEater His possession tactics have ruined football. Keep the ball, con the ref that every tackle is a foul, roll around play acting, get a man sent off, score when the opponents are tired of chasing your shadows.

Barcelona and Bayern now bore me to death watching it.

It's up to the other teams to work out how to combat it, no single tactic is flawless. And I think we utterly underestimate how hard it is to keep the ball the way they do, and win the ball back so early when they do lose it.

Sadly, basically only Mourinho's Inter seem to have done a good job of it. In the Champions League final, Inter were giving up the ball in order to keep shape and order. Most players, most managers wouldn't be able to even contemplate doing that.

Maybe this is a job for Pulis.

As much as City are still in contention for 4 trophies I think it's fair to say Pelligrini hasn't set the world alight during his time there and with the squad and resources they have they should've done a lot better than they have over the last 3 years.

Of course it's different. Pellegrini could well win (realistically) 2 or 3 trophies this season.

But this is the Premier League. Tougher games week in week out than in Spain or Germany. Granted our 'top' teams aren't quite as good as Barca, Real and Bayern but maybe that comes down to tiredness with the demands of the Premier League.

So could've Chelsea before they undermined Terry by signing Hector in August. I mean if you're going to shaft the captain, leader, legend then the rest of the squad aren't going to be sure of their positions either and might not perform as well as they should.

Their Premier League performance is probably more of an issue than their poor Champions League showings.

With the amount they've spent they really shouldn't be so reliant on Kompany to hold such a shakey defence together and they should really have this Premier League in the bag by now.

Yes - but do you think Pep will find it as 'easy' to win the Premier League as he did in Spain or Germany?

Probably not, but I guess we'll find out. That doesn't really change the view of Pellegrini under performing though does it?

He's possibly coming in at a good time though.

I'm not sure. I think European success is absolutely paramount to their plans.

You're right about Kompany of course but I think they've always been defensively suspect even going back to Mancini's time. Like a lot of sides their defensive strength lays more with them having more possession of the ball than the opposition. It's part of the reason why they regularly get ripped apart in Europe by the better sides who have just as much, if not more, of the ball.

I meant as a relative failure, in the context of this seasons Premier League at least.

I'm sure that Champions League success, well at least progress, is and was a massive ambition of the City owners and a big factor in their long term strategy, I just think they're lack of Premier League success is more of a failure because they've yet to dominate a campaign and win it as they probably should with the side they have and the money they've spent (maybe a tad harsh on the 13-14 win).

Agree with most of this, however, I think Barca have been a lot more 'entertaining' to watch in the last 2 seasons. They seem to have upped the tempo a little bit and are a bit more direct than they were under Pep. I suppose having an out and out striker in Suarez has helped.

When they beat Bayern in the CL last year it was brilliant to watch.
