I made loads of visit to the Bridge in the 80s and 90s, where games against "United" or Liverpool added easily 10,000 to the gate, as day trippers came out of the woodwork to see one of England's big clubs come to town. You could add games against Arsenal and even Spurs too.

Wins, or even draws, against these clubs were celebrated hard. Not fishing, maybe this was genuinely before your time.

LUX that UEFA place is still on Kes. If Chelsea win all their remaining matches "you" end up on 69 points. That was enough for fifth place last season.

sorted

Don't worry about us m8. Worry about your relegation battle.

 That's when I went most L8 80s and 90s. So as I said I went back 20 years where we were constantly finishing in the top 6. If you choose to go back further to pre 80s our attendances were high, but you probably knew that.

So if you went during this period you would agree with what I said. You have to back to the 60s for when Chelsea had consistently high attendances, 70s attendances on the whole at the Bridge were rubbish too, not helped by the new East Stand being built. I am 46 so it is fair to say not in my lifetime.

Two seasons from the nineties.....

91-92 season

Home games v

Southampton - 7,148
Norwich - 13,430
Oldham - 13,136
Arsenal - 26,003
Liverpool - 30,230
Spurs - 34,645
Man united - 23,120

95-96 season

Man City - 17,078
Boro - 21,060
Arsenal - 31,048
Spurs - 32,918
Liverpool - 31,137
Man United - 31,019

So, when the big boys come to town Chelsea got big gates, but couldn't be arsed to turn up otherwise. That Southampton attendance is just

How many of those massive clubs have finished in the bottom half of their division in the last 20 years?

Shame about Kurt Zouma.

Good news for Cahill and England I suppose.

You have to laugh.

Chelsea fan on 606 this evening said that this season he is worried that the soul has gone out of the club. He genuinely said that he is worried that Chelsea are becoming just like Man City - a team of mercenaries....

Where has this guy been for the last decade or more !

We played very well despite having a few injuries. Will be another tough game at the Bridge but everyone will be routing for the smaller spenders.

Surely being a member of NEMSA is better than having a life devoid of anything you always pick up on spelling or grammatical errors....

LOL at thinking that 'having a few injuries' is of any relevance for a club with an unlimited transfer budget !
