He bought Johnson and Ince for half of that money, and both have been pretty good. Even if not - you can't judge a successful football team on a few games. They lost only once in 20 league games before their recent poor run.

5 points off the top of the table too. This outdoes Reading's sacking of Clarke in term of ridiculousness.

Thing is, Derby board gave Clement their backing and said they want to develop a team worthy of getting promoted...you can tell Clement was passionate about the job, just by his reaction(s) to results and the recent slump - he didn't go and take an interview at another club, like Clarke did.

Maybe he did but there wasn't the PR fiasco of making it public. Which should never have happened.

Yup, i'm guessing Fulham were pretty confident so they just told everyone it was a done deal

As you don't support Derby will you be texting BBC Derby* post match and spamming their board now, like you do here?

Regarding Clement there surely has to be more to it.
When they play well they are probably the most attractive passing team at our level but there is obviously something lacking.
IMHO Clement has generally brought in attacking players whereas their real problem has been defensively and somehow Keogh is a constant-the same Keogh who cocked up in the play-offs a couple of seasons ago.
Clement's judgement must also be questioned for signing Alex Pearce.

So, in the past few weeks there have been Cotterill, now Redfearn and Clement, all judged after 20 odd games-is Brian now vulnerable as his record is arguably as bad as those 3 if not worse ??
If the owners weren't happy with the way Derby were playing I wonder what ours feel when watching 9 league games in which we have scored just 6 goals.
The question of Brian's future is is not a serious one on my part but the trend towards owners wanting instant success is increasing although ours might just think of our club as a secondary consideration and a hobby if they have anything to do with the massive development mooted for Green Park.

The Derby statement is ridiculous - 'promotion this year was not our primary aim' - so are you sacking him for doing too well, and being too close to promotion?!

Up until this season they've consistantly had one of the lowest wage bills as a percentage of turnover in the Championship. They were pretty prudently run.
