Brum Royal
Seb, just taking this slightly off topic for a minute, why does it seem that nobody (that you hear of in the mainstream press at least) seems to serve a full term? Why do most seem to get out early, and what then is the point of the full term sentence if it is less regularly served?

From my experience it's to try and regulate prison population and behaviour inside.

You are only released after 1/2 of your sentence if you have been 'good' whilst serving your term. When you are released, you are then effectively serving your sentence in public, you will most likely be on tag (dependant on sentence I believe) and have to visit a parole officer weekly. Any offence committed whilst on parole would see you instantly returned back to jail to serve the remainder of your sentence.

I'm sure Seb can explain better than myself though

Royalist He'll be put on the sex offenders list for years just for the guilty pleas and isn't that what stopped Ched Evans playing aboard?

I'm not sure if there's any difference under maritime law

Seb,
Seeing your earlier top 3 QCs I wondered whether (like doctors and teachers who beget doctors and teachers) you personally come from a family with a background in law.

About 10 years ago I met a female arbitrator at a tribunal surnamed Havers-I asked her "Are you related to.....?" and she immediately tried to help me out with "Nigel Havers?".
"No", I said "I was going to say the Lord Chief Justice or the Butler-Sloss family".
She seemed pleased that I hadn't come up with the obvious and if there had been more time.......who knows as she was a reasonable looker and.....

Anyway with that family having such a big dynasty ( I believe her cousin is Philip) I wondered whether you were part of a family with a legal background or are you just the start of a Seb dynasty?.
Please feel free to answer as you are not under oath.

Sebastian They just tell prisoners that good conduct will see them home at half time because it's a way of controlling them and convincing them to be good.

Well it worked for me :D

Sebastian No, no legal background at all (apart from all 8 of my mother's brothers who have been to prison. seriously  ). Dad was a social worker and mum was a housewife. Just got lucky* I guess.

you should, against all odds, get your law badges and then only work on freeing those 8 from prison. While you are tirelessly reading through the case histories surrounded by lots of cardboard boxes, there could be an 80's soundtrack playing in the background.

Seb, surrounded by boxes and working only by lamplight looks up from the paperwork, rubs his eyes and checks the clock. 4:25am. Another sleepless night.

LWJ What's stopping him playing in say, France where the legal age of consent is 15 so they probably wouldn't care too much about his conviction?

You have to wonder why his girlfriend is sticking by him though.

££££'s

9 month sentence, get that out the way and then off to China on another multi millions pound contract.

Where the age of consent is 14 and his skills will be better appreciated, particularly his first touch

Johnson took photos of his “nether regions” to show to a doctor, Bradford Crown Court heard today.

An intimate photo of Johnson’s exposed penis has been shown to the jury at Bradford Crown Court. The snap was taken on Johnson’s phone in August 2013.

Mr Pownall QC said: “It is not being suggested that this picture was taken for fun or that you were going to send it to someone.” Johnson replied: “No.”

Mr Pownall continued: “Did you take photos at different times of what I am going to describe as your nether regions? Why?”

Johnson replied: “To show the doctor.”

And Mr Pownall QC said: “We’ll leave it at that.”

Even if his doctor hadn't asked him to send her a picture?

Jury now considering their verdict.

Any guesses as to how this will go? I'm opting for guilty on fingering charge not guilty on the blowie charge.

I think it'll be all or nothing. From the snippets in the press this appears to be a case of Johnson's word versus hers, if the jury believes her he'll surely be found guilty on all charges.

how can you come to any decision 100% either way when it is one persons word against anothers? and this needs to have all 12 jury members agreeing for him to be found guilty or not guilty.

From the little I've gathered there's been a lot of discussion as to whether his pubes are shaved or not. She's says he was; he says they're just trimmed. This is why I think she may not be believed on the blowie score but generally (again from the little I've read) she seems genuine and he appears a shit.

Having followed it on Sunderland Echo's live updates part I can't see 12 members of the jury saying guilty.

IMO letter of the law means he will probably get off as the prosecution hasn't done enough to prove his guilt.

Seb, what are your thoughts?

I am really hoping the jury say 'not guilty' and just as he lets out a big lungfull of air they say 'is not what we are going to say, he is guilty!' and then he looks at them and they do a whole 'awww you guys!' type moment while the jury look on affectionately at the banter going on

someone would probably put someone else in a headlock and knucklerub their head and then Johnson will be lolzing and shaking his head as he is lead away. his face would suggest he is thinking 'you guys really had me going there!'

If the football career is over then he could always start a new one as an Ian Curtis (RIP) lookie likey.

Potential Sex offenders register requirements permitting obvs.
