Ian Royal
Franchise FC
Ian Royal If you go on ppg given the difference in division side, sadly Chelsea have already broken 106... possibly others have too.

Shhhhhh about that though.

We don't - they haven't

Good. Chelsea suck.

But they gifted us £4m for Hector 8)

Here we go, this isn't going to be popular.....

The excitement over the 106 'record' is a crock tbh. A 'record' which only exists due to 3 points for a win which was introduced in 1981. 5 years prior to that, Lincoln City scored an equivalent season tally of 106 points. And I bet that even that tally has been been eclipsed in the annals of league football. Seems to be we are celebrating a 'post 1981 record' (think of all the ire that 'Premier League records'/'football wasn't invented in 1992' causes) or a record which is ours only on a mathematical technicality :?

Agreed. Fuck off Floyd!

Even if its a post 81 record, work it out. On current league structure that's 72 attempts per season. 72 x 35 = 2,520 league campaigns under 3pts for a win, we have the best one. Best team ever outside the top flight. Its an amazing record and one we should be very proud of.

Besides, 3pts for a win was introduced to encourage attacking play and discourage settling for a draw. The point tallies back in the 2 for a win days could have been a lot different if wins had been worth 3pts.

No it hasn't. Or at least not in English professional football. And on two points for a win we beat Lincoln City.

Doncaster Rovers got 72 points in 42 games in 1945/46 which on a ppg ratio is better than 2005-06 but still only translates to 105 points with 3pts for a win.

The first part, probably, the second part.....no.

1975/76 Lincoln City P46 W32 D10 L4 F111 A39 Pts74

32 x 3 = 96 + (10 x 1) = 106

They also hold the record. 106.

I saw Lincoln gain one of those points. 1-1 at Elm Park. Easter 1976 iirc.

Best ever RFC season by a mile

It's our record solely. While you can convert their points total on the basis of 3 points for a win you can't convert the difference that playing for 3 points rather than 2 may have had on other team's approaches to their games against Northampton. So rearrange the phrase "trumpet and stick in that blow your"

You don't have to do any recalculations when you convert 2pts for a win to 3pts, just add the amount of wins to their point tally.

Silver Fox Isn't that a recalculation?

Well it's just quicker to do old pts tally + wins vs wins * 3 + draws.

Also, your face is a recalculation.
