Stick with the Ws (since we have beaten Walsall and West Brom) so Watford or West Ham.

Presumably if it's Watford Vydra couldn't play? That might leave us lacking in options up front. Presumably if it's Chelsea Hector and Piazoh couldn't play.

I'd be happy with anyone at home, aside from possibly Arsenal. If we're away I'd want West Ham - one last trip to Upton Park would be good.

I think I'd cry if we went out to those knuckledragging arses from E13

Too many Hammers at work giving it the big I am, just about the last draw I would want, would never hear the last of it if they knocked us out.

Late kick-off at Upton Park, please. All day session in London followed by seeing us reach Wembley.

So it was. I believe they offered it to everyone regardless of if they were signed up or not.

More fool those who did though, they missed out on a fantastic atmosphere.

Chelsea looking good against Man City reserves. Very very sloppy goal for them to concede though. And if Pedro could stay onside they might have more themselves.

I was surprised to hear it's 21 years since they've reached this stage - we're likely to be the chosen opponent for the majority of the other sides in the draw, assuming Man Utd make safe passage.

Can we get a bye or something?

Dont want Arsenal as they always always beat us even if they give us a massive goal start (not counting games in the war years or southern floodlight trophy)

Dont want Chelsea as they look like a team under Huddink

Dont want Watford as our forward line options would be Rakels and Cox

Dont want West Ham as they actually look like a PL team that give a toss about the cup

That leaves Palace (just getting back into the swing of things and nothing else to play for - also they're rather good)

Everton, another team with nothing else to play for and, as we got them in the League Cup and lost, a team we'd find difficult to surprise

So is the preferred tie really Manchester United?

Therefore the perfect QF draws would be

Arsenal v Chelsea
Everton v West Ham
Crystal Palace v Watford
Reading v Manchester United

Watford, Everton, Palace and Chelsea are all middle of the road PL teams we'd have a decent chance against.

Away to Shrewsbury would be perfect, you know.

^^ What is that gif from?

I love that clip

Hull if they get through. Amazingly although we appear to be rather average in the league our players seem to give a bit more in the cup.

In this order of preference

Home

Shrewsbury (unlikely, but the obvious preference)
Man United (Because they can lose it for us, and a draw would be a big pay-out)

Palace
Everton
Watford

These three would be favourites, but they are not "scary"

Arsenal (Hard to imagine us getting anything though we might steal 0-0)
West Ham (I think they are seriously good and would beat us by at least two)
Chelsea ( I think they are going to win the cup and we have no chance v them home or away)

AWAY

Winner of Shrewsbury v Man Utd (we could win at either)

I think we would lose against any of the others, might have a squeak at Everton

Dave-Royal Vydra can play for us against Watford ? if we get them... he not cup tied

There most likely is a clause in his contract that stops him playing against his parent club, just like Hector and Piazon probably have similar clauses.

That's massive speculation. I'm not sure why a club in the PL would bother with such a clause on the off chance they get drawn against a lower league side with one of their players.

Particularly in Piazon's case given Chelsea could hardly have been threatened by the prospect of us even with him when the deal was done, given we'd finished 39th in the football hierarchy and them 1st the previous year.
