I have always assumed 'teenager' is more of a description than a legal definition and that legally you are a child until the day you turn 18. Might be wrong though.

She was only a few weeks past her 15th birthday as well wasn't she?
Legally she's a child, and morally too when being compared to 27 year old or whatever he is.
