Crowbar6753 It all depends on the money, i,m guessing with him being an international and only 23 yrs old he will be priced well out of our limitations. We also have a bright young star coming through from our academy who would require no transfer fee and minimal wages (Fosu). But if we could get him for under two million then maybe a yes from me, but at two mil that would be all the transfer budget gone on one signing i guess.
Also, if i had a preference on buying a striker for two million or a left winger then i'd be really torn and would probably lean towards a young hungry striker.

id buy him for a million. no more

Barring serious injury I would expect Ola to average a goal or assist every 180 minutes ongoing.

Just checked and he has played 691 minutes for 2 goals and an assist (230 per ATM)
but he will improve, and to some extent he can learn to defend

Who else do we have ATM that can really turn defenders inside out ?

McCleary and Vydra are very capable of doing so, but I take your point.

His quality is stunning. Sign him up if we can, his ability is way out of our league.

Ye. I think anyone that Benfica have paid £10m for is going to be class, especially at our level. We've got to get him in permanently, barring mega fees.

If we're not going to be able to buy him this summer. Let's try and get him on loan for another year. Hopefully the following season we can get ourselves in the Premier League and maybe Ola John will prove his worth in that time. Then paying £10 million as a Premier League club for a player that actually looks a £10 million player will be appropriate.

He needs to add a second option to his portfolio of final balls. Just because he scored once by shooting from the narrowest of angles it doesn't mean he has to do it every time.....

He's an odd player. Not really very good technically, very one footed, makes odd decisions but maybe partly as a result of all that he manages to be quite effective.
You wonder whether he's the sort of player that confuses the hell out of a full back the first time he sees him but the second or third time they meet the defender has him sussed and just ushers him out to the touchline where he disappears up his own rear.
Was hugely impressed by his contribution to the third goal against WBA though.

Can't agree, Nameless. he turns fullbacks inside and out and they really don't "get it".

And he has two goals, not just the one

Left defence exposed again, but very good going forward.should just ping the ball into him early, every time.

If Obita would start spotting through balls to him instead of stopping and turning sideways, he'll be even more dangerous. Great again today, and completed the 90 minutes without looking tired.

Don't worry guys, his release clause is only €45,000,000.

Well a) how many Championship full backs has he played full games against more than once ?
b) I didn't mention how many goals he's scored

But he did well today, even if much of what I said was on show. He even tried his trademark shot to the near post from a ridiculously tight angle ! Not sure if the chip for HRK's second was a shot or cross, but frankly it doesn't matter if it led to a goal !

There seems to be more people posting these days who make comments like this, seemingly showing no understanding that position is important.

It was noticeable v Fulham that John really lacks pace.

If he had Kebe's pace, wow!

I think that lack of pace will stop him ever being a top-top winger
but I would love him to be a permanent player for us.

That was a sweet-sweet goal he made for HRK

I am pretty sure it was a shot but turned out a better cross for the goal
