That's all well and good but my drive is only about 10/12 miles, give or take, and takes me no time and costs me nothing in my company car driving to the free parking I take advantage of.

It'll cost me probably an extra 2/3 hours by public transport and that'll no doubt mean I'll end up going even earlier to make the most of not driving. Those aren't probably typical circumstances though, but judging by the number of cars queuing to get out of the various car parks there are plenty of other fans that prefer to drive to games.

60-90 minutes extra each way ? Quite possible if you don't live close to a decent public transport route and/or have to change buses. I live on the outskirts of London and my 10 mile journey to work would take at least an hour more by public transport even assuming all the connections worked out well.

Or 20 mins if you use P&R like has been suggested a dozen times, rather than keep banging on about the least effective option to you, because of your minority location situation, to further your anti-club agenda.

Quickest I have ever been home from a Saturday game at madjeski apart from when we played Bristol Rovers!!!

Personally, I am not affected by all of this.......it's just half an hours walk from home for me......but I seriously sympathise for you lot when the stadium car parking is trimmed back...followed by the loss of the speedway track parking.

I cannot help laughing at the trade-off of the multi-storey car parking arrangement .............600 cars simultaneously trying to exit down one or two ramps at the end of the game

Nope not lucky, that's pretty much standard

The bus lane is a funny one, going to the ground it's not always used by every driver, usually when there is no traffic, but coming back it tends to be used.

And in terms of positive response it has been? Under estimating the lost capacity at Worton Grange? Advising supporters to use the already existing parking and a few extra buses. Yes, I know it's not easy for them to come up with other parking alternatives but the proposals for REP are absurd and the impact, particularly during construction, massive.

Also, I wonder how long have they known about the date for the closure of Worton Grange and when does work actually start on that development?

Why then can you not be open to the idea of park and ride which has been said on more than one occasion is an excellent alternative? The Mearoak car park is 5 minutes from the M4, if that. And the time it takes to get from car -> ground and ground -> car has been said by more than one person is very efficient and quick?

Not sure why you wonder those things.
But it's been well known that the car park was a temporary option since it opened. the big signs advertising that Design and Build opprtunites were available gives the clue. AFAIK we have kept it a fair while longer than was originally agreed. When the final closure was decided I'm not sure but it won't have been down to the club and whether building starts now or in 10 years time is also not down to the club. If the landlords want vacant possession then that;s their choice.

It's interesting that on Saturday we had a decent crowd and there has been no outcry over lack of parking, there was no obvious chaos, people arriving half way through the game because they had parked in Mortimer and no horror stories about bus queues. I do agree (as does pretty much everyone) that there is an issue to be addressed but much like Boris and co and their scaremongering about Europe I suspect there is a little bit of over reaction from some people....

Me and jnr leon II (7) Parked at Meeroak and got the bus. We normally park at the HP site.

Actually it was OK. We got back to London pretty much at the same time as we would and didn't have to queue to get out of the car park. Bus was alright, so yeah doing that again.

maybe therell be 4 ramps, and they'll open up the up-ramps for downward exit after the game to assists matters

I noticed that I got away a lot quicker on Saturday than normal. I head down the Basingstoke road and on to the M4 so maybe the closure of the Worton parking has reduced traffic in that area and it's now all getting held up around the ground. Or maybe it being Fulham all the fans took the train instead of driving - though I haven't noticed that for other London clubs.

Pick the bus up where it drops you off. Bottom of the hill behind the away end on the roundabout.
